What low power scope for 9.3x62?

I put a fixed 4X Zeiss on mine. I like the brightness and simplicity of it. The 2.5-8x36 Leupold would also be a great scope for this caliber if you might sometimes need more magnification.

... but seriously though, there are a lot of good reasonably priced scopes out there, over the years, I appear to have gravitated to the Leupold VX-3 series of scopes as the best balance of features to quality to price, for my purposes. I have owned most of the common models in the VX-3 lineup, the 1.5-5X is a good bright scope @ 1.5X and has the power to make accurate 250 yard shots... the 1.75-6X gives up little on the lowend, but for whatever reason the extra 1X on the top end seems to make a disproportionate difference, to me at least. The 2.5-8X is where I usually start when I am anticipating 300 yard shooting, and if the possibility of 350-400 yards is possible I generally go with the 3.5-10X... when I need extra precision on small targets, I go with the 4.5-14X. As for objectives, IMO there is no reason to go over 40mm in size, the 50mm options are marginally brighter, but I have yet to run into the scenario where that would make a difference in making a clean shot or not... so why the extra expense, bulk and weight? For your 9.3X62, only you can decide what kind of shooting you will be doing and what you might press this rifle into service for... if you are worried that 5X is not enough on the top end, I would go with the 2.5-8X36, but if you are worried that 2.5X is too much on the low end, then stick with the 1.5-5X20, in either case, I would take a pass on the 2.5X Ultralight... I have owned several, and just sold the last one off... it is just a little too restrictive for me. As for reticle, the standard Duplex is good (don't go with the Heavy Duplex), I also like the B&C reticle for big game rifles that have the horsepower.

One more recommendation for the 1.5-5X20 VX3. I have one on a BLR in 450 Marlin, and it is great. I also have recently installed an old Bushnell Scopechief VI 1.5-4.5X20 on a 9.3X57. I think that a scope of that range is perfectly suited to a 9.3X62 or similar calibre.

I picked up an era-tac pic rail for my cz550 FS but am thinking of replacing it with Warne QD rings as I don't like that it doesn't have a groove to see the irons. I initially got it to allow more fore/aft adjustment of the scope since rings limit the position somewhat.

Would a Nikon monarch 7 1.5-6x42 be too big/heavy for a cz550 FS ? It has a 4a illuminated reticle. I also have a vx3 1.5-5x20 I could use, but was thinking of sticking it on a cz527.

Scope in question on a Zastava 9.3x62, gunsmithed to perfection only to realize the chamber had been cut incorrectly. D’oh!

SB Klassik 1.25x4x24

it is maybe a little too high?

we had the same scope before it was called the klassik but the french importer did not to fix it. we went with direct germany office to learn that the 5 years old scope had a failure in keeping the gaz inside. it was fixed i sold it letting the buyer knows about the issue and that was it about sb ... it was a great scope when it worked.

^^^After playing with the 9.3x62 for a bit I can see the FXII 2.5x20 I just bought is not a good match for this rifle... swapped it out for a 3-9x40 BDC reticle Vortex Viper.

I think your 2-7 or a 2.5-8x36 would be about perfect and when I see a deal will get one.

In the mean time I put the 2.5x20 fixed Leupold on my 1985 Marlin 444 and I'm loving that set up :)

It is set high for a purpose. I had put a ZEISS HD5 2x10x42 on it, but there were two issues. One was that the bolt handle almost touched the eyepiece. The other issue was that I had to stretch my neck far forward to be in the eye box. By putting this SB scope with no bell on, two issues are gone
