blackpowder cartridge shoot??

Hey guys. Do you know about any other blackpowder silhouette shoots in northwestern Canada? Heffley Creek shoots are cancelled, and I know about the Alberta provincials in July/August. Thanks.
 
Hi, you are welcome to come our shoots in Saskatoon when Covid rules allow it again. The website is . We have 22 Silhouette May 1 and 2, BP shoots on July 24-25 and Aug 21-22. The 22 shoot is out to 100 off hand May 1. It is out to 200 on the second. The BP shoots are muzzleloader out to 100 offhand on day 1 and Cartridge at 200 and 300 on day 2. Unfortunately when our range was recertified we can only shoot off the bench at the 200 and 300 yard range. No prone, no off hand. Same thing for the 22 long range, silly but that is all they will allow. Still lots of fun, lots of free camping in the bush. We have lots of fun, not as serious competition as other places. Basically people need to leave their feelings at the gate as there is lots of heckling....If you go to the website scroll to the bottom and you will find a calendar with all of our events for the year.
 
There is a club at Trochu Ab. that held lever gun & BPCR (your choice, Smokeless or BP) combined events up until Covid shut them down last year and havent heard if they are going to give it a go yet this year. Both pistol caliber & full bore caliber targets used but ranges are limited to 200 yrds for full bore.

There is a rumor around that a 1000 yard Buffalo Silhouette range might be set up on some Halkirk coal mine land if Covid rules allow this year

Provincial regs. on Covid is still raising havoc with any concrete planning . Ab. Frontier Shootist are making plans to hold a full shooting schedule this year if current crowd limits are relaxed, that will include BPCR levergun silhouette but our range is limited to 100 yrds so if you want to stretch your BPCR out to traditional ranges, we wont be able to accommodate.
 
Don't discount Heffley yet! They have sent out a flyer with the list of events and dates and are working up in anticipation of carrying it off. Being prepared for the event starting now is a lot easier than trying to do it at the last moment if suddenly things open up. Far easier to cancel if necessary one or two weeks before. Good for them! After doing all this realized flintyboom was looking for black powder cartridge meets and my foregoing becomes irrelevant, sorry - but we rendezvous folks are most happy.

what flintyboom is referring to is a black powder cartridge shoot held at Heffley roughly in late May or early June. Seems pretty unlikely that covid rules will have relaxed by then

In Lethbridge we do a 500m BPCR and a 22lr silhouette in the middle of July. This year we are going to add some pistol, ML rifle and maybe lever gun events but don't have the dates firm yet.
The ABPA provincial shoot and others associated with them are almost all paper targets and trail walks.

Valley View used to do some but haven't heard anything about them in several years.
 
I'm still holding out hope for the rendezvous, but I don't know if it's going to happen. Lawrence Bergstrand, an Administrator of the Heffley Creek gun club on Facebook, announced yesterday that all events at the club are cancelled for the year. I haven't heard anything from the rendezvous organizers yet though. I miss rendezvous. :(
