303 British FMJ

I have a few rolls of tp in the trunk of my car ..... in case there is a run

in my house a roll does not last long...

and if I put them inside no one tells you ............ this is the last roll

Many times .... 11pm stores are closed ..and the holder is empty

Stack it deep

2021 is going to be a interesting YEAR :)

We are resurrecting the Atlantic .303 British Championship which will tentatively be held this fall at Bull Meadow Rifle Range. Hirsch Precision is the sponsor and we have accumulated 470 rounds of FNM and have allocated Hornady FMJBT and brass. Sierra MK are being ordered but not sure about availability. Reloads will use VihtaVuori N540 and others.

Reloading is really the only way to enjoy shooting the .303 frequently. Bite the bullet and buy a quantity of brass and then treat it kindly without trying to load high performance loads.

I horde running water in case I have to wash my ass like.. well like I actually want it to be clean.

I second the 7.62x39 and 7.62x54R for the powder and bullets to use in .303 British. I just pulled a few 54R yesterday. I use about 70% of the powder for .303 loads from 54R. I use it all when using x39 bullets and powder.

Not one to waste, I load up around 10-12 gr. of 700X or Unique under a cast bullet in the primed 54R case and shoot it out of my "shooter" 91/30. I also use Unique or 700X in the x39 cases under a cast bullet.

My RCBS .30 cal collet works ok in the puller. I take care to make note of the weight of the powder that comes from the 54R round. Interestingly, the weights ranged from 45.5 to 46.6 in the last little batch I measured. I only weighed three bullets, and they were all just over 148 hrs.

This performance keeps my old 303's up and running. :)

darn but i must be getting old. i taught firearms safety/hunter training back in the late 80's and would regularly pick up 1k of 303b milsurp and 1k of sa 308 both for 100$ a case with shipping in. went out one hunter training range weekend and shot all 2k up with a group of 20 kids using 303 milsurp and an fnc1. even used the 20 round mag with the fn. strangely enough, no one got hurt, bent, or damaged and all had fun.

my, how times have changed. thanks alan rock, trudeau, and the rest of you liberal pr!cks.

Not that I'm a Liberal suppporter but I'm curious how you equate diminishing stocks of surplus obsolete military equipment including ammunition with Alan Rock or anyone else. When did Canada transition to the FN rifle shooting 7.62x51 Nato? All the military Canadian surplus 303 is just plain used up.

ummm, i didn't equate anything. just stated how you could pick up ammo long time ago for cheap. used it to shoot with students in hunter training safely using a variety of firearms, including rifles and mags that are now prohibs. then made the comment that such activities couldn't be done these days as such items are probits, thanks to rock and liberals. yes, times have certainly changed....

hmm, seem to recall using an fn back in the day as an issue battle rifle before the c7 came along. in fact, you could even purchase them before they became prohib safe queens, which is where mine is now living...

yes, you are correct in that most surplus ammo is now used up.

trust your curiosity is now sated....

enjoy your day....

(and that was my 1500th post, which is really why i responded to you)

i know, don't you wish for those days to be back? spent hours looking over those catalogues and drooling. always wanted to buy a liberator 45 back in the late 60s/early 70s when they were going for 7$ or so but my parents wouldn't let me. now, those darn liberators at something around 2K if you can find one. who have been a great investment. have only seen two at shows/shops and they were both dewats.
