Chopping a six inch barrel

The S&W 686 in the top right corner was done by Bits of Pieces in Delta. Converted from 6" to 106mm. He's a member of this board. Somewhere around $100 to chop the barrel and reinstall the sight. It looks so good that when I went in to pick it up he fumbled for a minute and said "sorry I think I somehow missed this one..." thinking that I'd brought in a 4" revolver to have rebarreled to 6".

It does not have to be re-registered or verified. You only need to have a firearm re-registered if it is changing classes. If you swap the 20" barrel on your AR for a 16" barrel do you have to call in and let the CFC know? No. My reg cert still says 152mm for barrel length.

That being said, you MAY want to have it re-registered by calling and and letting the CFC know that the new length is 106mm so you don't get nailed by some know it all cop at the range asking why you have a 4" barreled revolver but no 12.6 endorsement.

This is the information I'm looking for; thanks MoparGuy. Anyone ells have something to say on this?
