$1500 tax return money... wife doesn't know about... buy what?

Buy her a RPAL course and then allocate the rest towards the first firearm she wishes to purchase once she has her PAL/RPAL. It's an investment in your marriage.
I tried that route with my previous marriage. Divorced

This one likes to go to the range occasionally to plink with my Tikka 22. Forget about hunting, she's too delicate! lol

Bashaw Sports is selling off their stock of new Remingtons. Have a look at their site, it is so tempting I had to hide my credit card.

Went for a drive to the local gun store not expecting much would be in stock. This Henry arrived there yesterday and listed on webpage this morning... and I knew if I hesitated, it would be gone. 45-70 was the last hole in my collection after selling my Marlin. Nicely made, light, and adjustable sights... Wife is going to kill me.

It's all a matter of getting used to it. It's actually quite pleasant and easy to load and unload. 22 rimfire, on the other hand, is quite fiddly because of their size. If you need more than 4+1 in 45-70, you have no business in the shooting arts. :)

Give half to your wife and spend the rest on ammunition. Everybody wins.

Nope, buy her a dozen roses for NO reason at all...then spend the 1480.00 on whatever you want...win win and you'll most likely get lucky too....:)
