MDT introduces the HNT26! A 26 Ounce Carbon Fiber Hunting Chassis

Any chances for high res pictures of the arca integrated dovetail ? I really want this for a hybrid hunting/competition for a 22lr RimX.

Not quite yet, but there will be more pictures soon!

What’s the rough weight of the long action with Arca rail and floating stock?

Around 31 oz.

Will it be a deposit for pre order or payment in full? Really hesitant on pre orders these days with covid and how everything’s been going.

It is paid in full, understandable, you won't miss it, it might be available on the next batch after summer.

What's the width of the chassis?

Which area are you looking at for width?

So does the chassis only accept the 3 round polymer mags or will the higher cap aics mags also fit? Also, any plans for longer or different style forends?

It has an AICS pattern magazine well so any AICS magazine will do. Nothing planned at this time outside of the options available now.

I would also like to see some more pics and demensions, I don't see any pics of the green colour, as far as pre.order I think I will just wait till they are available but I am interested in one for a tikka.

All will be available soon!

I like it, any plans for a howa footprint?

Not right now, but make sure you leave us a request!

Does the fixed stock have non-rotating push button swivel bases on both sides?

Yes, but they are rotational.

I would be surprised if it wasn’t reversible they wouldn’t want to have to make different parts if they make a left hand version down the road. But the bolt handle will most like still be an issue.

Yes, the issue is the bolt handle which is why it folds to the left, it isn't reversible due to how it attaches/the bolt handle.

that recoil pad looks pretty much useless, will it accept other 1" pads?

It's a pretty decent pad, but we are not aware of any aftermarket options that will fit without modification.

The extra weight of your heavy chassis helps with recoil. Lightweight magnums aren't all that comfortable to shoot.

I agree, though I think that a quality brake is way more effective at mitigating recoil than an extra quarter inch of rubber. My moose rifle (LSS-XL) in 7 rem is well under ten pounds loaded with an optic, and the ATRS cuts the recoil to less than my unbraked .308.

That being said, I know not everyone loves a brake hunting. I hunt with ears so the noise really doesn't bother me. I think if you're looking to run a big boomer caliber (300 prc/WM, 8mm or bigger), a featherweight chassis probably isn't what you want anyway.

At least, that's the opinion of one guy on the internet.

So why didnt mdt make the hnt26 chassis fit the 3.715 mag size for a tikka long action(such as a 300 win mag)? The small sized factory mags have to be the biggest grip for anyone who reloads for that calibre/rifle.

Because the 3.715" magazine requires some fairly complex modifications to the action/trigger to make work.

Any chance of an update on when you expect to ship? Good communication is appreciated by those of us that dropped $1500 five months ago. No need to point out Summer runs June 21 to September 22, just an honest update would be appreciated.
