Not that I never had one and liked them back in the 60s. But I'm working on a friends 1948 Danzig Kar98. Mostly some minor cosmetic work, but... Just wondering how many million miles does a rifle have to hang in a pickup gun rack to wear a major groove in the barrel. The groove in the stock was easy to fix and hide, but major wear on the barrel is frustrating. Short of some miracle TIG welding going to have to stay that way. Anybody else got some old thunder sticks with these abusive marks on them.

I had a Winchester Model 88 that had the muzzle warn awf crook-ridd.
I guess it was noze down on the floor boards fur qwite ahh spell.
Chit'n their personalititties.................aye?

Looky, I had a M99 Savage with the same issue. Muzzle worn so badly that the crown was completely gone, and now at an angle.
Never did shoot it, but I'll bet accuracy was not much. :) Dave.

Are you sure your not confusing the wear groove in the barrel with what is commonly known as the “safe kiss”?!

I have a small ring Mauser in 270 that someone decided to record their kills by notching the stock behind the grip. Otherwise nice...

The SIN number engraving on the nicest blued flat surface is also annoying. As is the full name of the person who owned it prior with electro pencil.
