Hey guys,

I took delivery of my WS-MCR with a Galil style folding stock. Unfortunately the stock will not fold. I have lubricated it and tried everything to get it to fold. What am I doing wrong have current owners experienced this?

Also as a side question any tips on removing the gas plug? I have tried with a 1-4 inch socket wrench but the darn thing won't budge, added some kroil penetrating oil but still stuck. The rifle is nice but seems real stiff:)

Thanks for the help!

I had the same issue with a CZ 858 stock.
The self-adjusting spring used to compensate for lockup wear was pretty tight and the paint was thick.

Ended up getting a nylon mallet (push button was exposed) and giving it a wack to break it loose.
I then ended up lubing up the surfaces and continued to work stiff button until it wore in. Had to occasionally use the hammer to "bump" the push button that got occasionally stuck.
100 or so repetitions bedded in the surfaces nicely and now it opens as advertised.

Since I have no idea what your stock looks like I am guessing the contact surfaces have to bed themselves.

I had the same issues. I literally had to smack the stock with my fist downwards to get it unlocked. Don't be gentle with it ;)

Thanks will try. Did you have any issues with removing your gas plug? Mine is completely stuck.

I have not even tried yet, figured I would save that portion of the cleaning until after the first few hundred rounds to see how it looked. In hindsight, it would have been smart to see it beforehand too though. So good on you. Try calling Wolverine supplies, took them a few days to call back but they did respond. I have heard from others that parts on this gun are really stiff, but it should not be stuck.

I hated how stiff mine was. It was always a ridiculous battle to fold it.
The metal hole and shaft are machined rough. If you took it apart and "sanded & reamed" the shaft & hole ,..I feel it would be a lot smoother transition.

I had to put mine in a vise to remove the gas plug. I just put the gas block in soft jaws in the vise and reefed on the socket wrench. Don't put the receiver in a vise though cause then you'll possibly torque the gas block out fo alignment.

I initially had difficulty with folding my stock as well. It took a lot of finger strength to compress the stock spring. If you are having trouble, I can post a video to show you how I perform the stock folding process.

Hi Anthony, I would really appreciate that video. I basically have a fixed stock rifle at the moment:)

My thumbs are pressing up on the bottom of the stock and I'm squeezing with my fingers, pulling down the stock. I position my thumbs on the portion of the stock that doesn't swing out while I press down on the on the portion that swings out, compressing the internal spring with my fingers. Let me know if it helps.
