Something we all see and I see it daily..bought four years ago new unfired safe queen just going in another direction pristine shape! Well....I’ve canceled numerous deals after I get a pic of the bolt face and close up of the action!
I’m 99% sure I’m like every other addict on this site I almost can’t sleep till I get the range! Fire those few rounds just to get back and get a little more out of it.
Sadly I do know of a few! Only a few! People that can wait about a week or two and then they run like children on a Saturday to the range to cleanse the soul from there new purchase I’m sure there’s some out there that buy firearms that dont use them....That normal! There is help. Sorry if I offended anyone it’s just the way I see it.
God help my trigger squeezing soul?
GUN NUTZ FOR EVER!

these people do not believe in Karma selling something that's not representative of the narrative they placed which reflects who they really are in society.

There is a huge difference from test fired to bolt marked up action showing wear.
Bought more then enough rifles over time I’ve never seen one that well used new from factory.

Wife, kids, jobs, ferries, pandemic, flat tires, locusts! Things in life get in the way. I have two in the safe for nearly a year that didn’t make out yet.

Too right. Im a young father with two young kids (3 years old and the other 9 months), full-time job with a rotating on-call schedule, a property to maintain, not to mention all the other stuff life brings up unexpectedly. I get to the range as much as I can but we aren't all graced with disposable time. Also, time is also spent on other hobbies such as hunting and music/guitar.

I guess I'll have tons of disposable time when I'm retired but I don't want to wish the next 25 years of my life away either just to have that disposable time.

I had a 308 that sat in the safe for 2 years before I finally shot it. I had a 45/70 that sat in the safe for 5 years before firing it. It took that long to get sights for it.

I'm ahh sinner.
Bawt new gun last week'n it's still in the bawx.
Please forgift me..................................................:sok2

Not me. Ten years ago my mail man handed me a new rifle, scope and mounts. I couldn't wait to mount the sight so I cleaned it and then took it out back and pointed it at a hill and touched it off. Then I had breakfast and mounted the scope. Just me!

I used to be super skeptical like you until I bought a brand new Type81 two years ago. I took it out of the bag to fondle it then it went into the safe and hasn't seen the light of day since. Last minute deployment for 6 months followed by life followed by a pandemic.... I don't believe in safe Queen's and I'm not saving it for anything special I just can't get my #### together to burn some ammo. I think some people are still lying but I don't care. I look at pics, pay what I think it's worth to me and move on. I certainly wouldn't pay extra for something advertised as unfired but to each his own. I roll my eyes more at the "safe kiss, very rare" etc comments than anything else.

I have bought 2 brand new in box pistols from fellow CGN'ers. When I received them it was like I just walked out of my local gun shop. Their description was 100 percent accurate. If someone states that its new and unfired I always ask for additional pictures and ask a few more questions. If I don't like what I see or hear I just walk away and let them know that I am not interested. Simple as that.

Same here. I have a compact 7-08 that has been in the safe and still in the box for more then a couple years and has only been out a couple times to take a look at. Still haven't decided what will happen to that rifle........

Got a few sitting in the safe that I haven’t fired since I bought them
I’m sure most of us do! Lol
They will get fired eventually

I've had rifles for a year or two without shooting them for one reason or another. Life gets in the way sometimes and I do have other hobbies too. I seem to rotate through a few different hobbies, and have gone a year or two without even firing a gun. I sold a Norinco 1911 a few years back that was still in the sealed plastic bag, but I had bought 4 of them when Canada ammo had the unmarked ones for cheap. Only ended up keeping two of the guns, plus the one my wife bought.

I used to not be able to wait but I currently have two firearms , one the wife bought me as an anniversary gift end of December and another I got end of January I think that I haven’t shot yet . It’s been cold and I’m lazy so there you go

Wasn't sure if this was a "I see guns advertised as 'unfired' and I ain't buyin' it" thread, or, a "I can't believe people buy guns and wait forever to shoot them" thread. Based on the replies, it looks like both. lol

I was once like the OP and skeptical about those assertions. As I got to know more shooters/hunters...I learned that indeed=lots of guns get purchased and never leave their boxes or at least, their owners seem to be in no rush TO open/shoot etc. I was never in a panic to actually shoot a gun for the first time..just getting it into my hands and finally owning=always seemed like such a relief/victory. From there, I want to savour every second I spend getting to know it, giving the gun it's first/initial cleaning...really let it soak in.

Besides, I've experienced enough recoil in my life that I want the first date to be special, and not rushed in any way. :)

I have 4 right now that haven't been out yet. But they are all coming with me on the next trip! One isn't technically new but the only original parts are the trigger and receiver.
