Hinged Floorplate -help-

This was in my parts drawer and cannot remember where or why I got it.

Anyone recognize it?

Just a guess - but I'm thinking it could belong on a Browning bolt action since it has the clips that would normally hold the magazine in place.

My old hunting buddy's Browning had a similar design where the mag was held in place on the hinged floor plate but you could detach it for cleaning etc.

I'm thinking it's Browning BBR which was the precursor to the Browning A Bolt.

Rear end of jpc's is squared off - the BBR looks to have a "tail" on rear end - very close though - needs to be from a rifle with a separate trigger guard - similar to the Win M 70's and the BBR's...

Those clips look like they would hold a spring and follower, not a magazine.

I think its off a mauser.

That's a BSA floor plate. Have had a few of them over the years.
