PAL Wait Time

Sent my RPAL application last week. I called them, they said to expect 4 months wait time as they were very busy.
Hopefully it's less than that!!!
They also said fees were going up April 1st.

4 months until it shows up online. Then who knows how long until it gets approved. You have a while to wait.

RPAL application in Quebec (no PAL previously):

Mailed: October 16th2020
Received: October 21st 2020
Visible on RCMP website: 12Feb2021
CC Charge: 12Feb2021
12Feb2021: Missing PAL course results, faxed in
26Feb2021: Was made aware I needed the SQ3007 form for RPAL in Quebec, go get it filled out at local police station, faxed in 28Feb2021
09Mar2021: "Completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date."

Anyone from Quebec get their RPAL issued recently (as their initial license) and how long it should take after the "completed initial processing stage"?

Many thanks in advance.

I'm BC applicant. 4 months to the day since I mailed it. I didnt get tracking, but the mail time is the same so should show up this week sometime.

AB Applicant.
Received 24th September
CC charged 14th Jan
Called around 1st March, was told my photo was awaiting verification so it hadn't been sent to the AB CFO yet. Asked if there was anything missing, she said looks fine and she'll put a note on my file to hurry it up.
Still no progress 2 weeks later.

My license has been approved at last:

Province: NS
Timeline:
Mailed: September 25
Received: October 1
Visible online: Jan 22

Approved: 11 March - Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canadian Firearms Program Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

Congrats! Based on your timeline my RPAL would be approved on April Fools Day. Not a short wait!

My Timeline:
Pal course- September 2-3 2020
App received at rcmp - Nov 5th 2020
Cc charged / in progress - March 1st
Officer called me for a convo - march 11th
License issued - March 16

My cc charged Mar 10, and it says application received and completed initial processing and is in progress, check status at a later date..hopefully not another 4 month wait..lol

Up to 45 day wait after it shows up online it also said so more patience is needed..lol

Don't count on 45 days after showing up online... I'm currently at day 50. Apparently yesterday when I called my photo still had not been scanned into the system.

I just called them a short while ago..said it was sent off to the CFO for final stage..hopefully sooner than later..i guess it is what it is..

i had an error with my application, noticed online it said "you have been or will be contacted" so I called right away and cleared it up. I just received the letter from them on the weekend that said application received October 29th, expected date of application completion may 28th. So you could be waiting a while.

There's something very wrong here, usually the photo is scanned when it shows up online, or within a day or two after that, before it goes to provincial CFO. If your photo has not been scanned yet, something's gone off the rails.

That seems like a lot longer than 4 months

I thought the same thing. The woman I spoke with yesterday agreed it has been a long time and was going to email thT department to look into the problem in hopes to expedite the process... we will see. I'll give it until Friday. If nothing I will call again to see if the photo has been input.
