I just called them a short while ago..said it was sent off to the CFO for final stage..hopefully sooner than later..i guess it is what it is..

If you're from QC, I've heard it could take months at the Quebec CFO before it goes back to the RCMP for license issue...

My RPAL initial application completed initial processing on 09Mar2021, but have a feeling I won't be shooting a handgun at the range before summer 2021...

They received mine in march 2020, it's still in initial processing. It's at the references stage (as of at least October 2020), and they haven't contacted any of my references. My references have tried calling multiple times and couldn't get through.

Congrats! I'm at 147 days and counting from received to "initial processing complete" on 09Mar2021 for an initial RPAL application in QC.

Are you kidding?!? 12 months and still no license? Is it a restricted you're applying for?

12 months from receipt (and counting) is ridiculous and unacceptable unless there were problems/issues with your application and they needed clarification...

If you're applying for restricted and already did the mandatory LAW 9 class in Quebec, it expires exactly after 1 year of course completion if you haven't gone to/joined a range (how can we without a license? how fair is that?)

Best of luck and hope it comes sooner than later.

Upgrading from a non-restricted to a restricted. I have a few friends who applied at the same time and they all got their RPAL in December. I'm still waiting. I've checked and everything is good (what they told me in October), and it's "On the list to call" (is what they told me last week), but I'm still waiting for them to actually call my references. My references have beent trying to call since last month.

Wow, sorry to hear but 1 year wait is simply ridiculous for a license upgrade... Hope you get it soon.

Mine should be anytime then, I sent it in on November 13th. Been checking a few times a day, but nothing yet.

If applying for your restricted there is only one charge for both. 60 something for PAL and 80 something for PAL and RPAL together. I think that was the price lol.

I did check off both and put the full charge for my CC @$143.08, I might have to call tomorrow and ask.

No the full charge is the 80 something. You dont have to pay for both separately. The charge for your RPAL includes your PAL for the total being 80 something, not $143.08 so you should be fine.

Yeah thats what my instructor told me anyways lol. I'm assuming they would charge for both at the same time, but its hard to know what goes on in government workers minds.

I mailed mine in from BC on the 13th, and takes about a week to get there so hopefully mine shows up online tomorrow. I just called and they said should be up any day now. Iv also moved in the last 4 months and I want to get my address updated right away.

The ON CFO is pretty quick based on what I've read. My application is at the QC CFO, and been reading it could take months to process. Good luck.

Ok that makes sense, Iv heard renewals take alot less time.
My uncle has to renew his and when I told him iv been waiting 4 months he was passed haha. I told him his should be alot quicker then my new application.

Not to worry. I did same on mine. The thought being, since there were two separate safety course, one charge for PAL and one for RPAL

You paid by credit card so (as they did for me) they will just bill you the correct amount ($80)
