The New 2021 Colt Anaconda revealed

Hmmm...now that I’ve had time to think....perhaps an 8” Anaconda would be nice. Since I don’t have a new Python, a 4.25” would be good also. Need more space in the safe.

Not malarkey, though they never made a lot of them. - dan

Interesting Dan. Thank you

Edit: I thought I did see one once as a movie prop gun.
Boondock Saints 2. The mob boss in his manor house was fiddling with it near the fireplace late into this movie. Killed thier Italian friend with it. Looked like a blued King Cobra six inch barrel.
Maybe.

Any rumblings of alternate calibers on this frame yet? There are basically no .45 Colt SA/DA options right now beyond the S&W 25 or the Ruger Redhawk.

Also if it really is just a slightly larger Python frame then I have a feeling it would go nicely with the .41 magnum, especially if it weighs in at all below a N-frame Smith

Well the looks are one thing, the rest is ....

I should nuance my comments a little better. The factory action and finishing of the old anaconda and king cobra were not at the same level of the old python, but they were at a better price point and the fact they could stand up to steady full magnums was an improvement and could always be tuned. The new anaconda should be equivalent to the new pythons which by most accounts are very nice.

You think the new one won't measure up Bigi?
The original, while strong, was based on the king cobra, was not very refined and was a far cry from a Python. If I recall, it was never very sought after at the time. On paper anyway, I think the new one has the 'potential' of being significantly better. I guess time will tell.

I agree. One thing the new ones have that I don't prefer to the old one is the actual trigger profile. I personally don't enjoy the hard edges. Also, the old MK.III/IV actions can be tuned up super sweet. Still not quite as nice as a the new Pythons double action after an easy tune up but nevertheless, I've shot some great feeling Anacondas in the past.

I have a (scoped) 8" Anaconda as well as a 6", obviously old manufacture. I prefer the 6" by a wide margin, and really think a 5" would be the sweet spot with the full lug. That 8" of mine would be fun for hunting deer or black bear, but you just about want shooting sticks for it! If I was hunting it, I'd actually be strongly tempted to remove the scope.

Anyway, new Anaconda, tempting, but think I need a 4.25" Python first. Working on that.
