gaillard barrel?

I have chatted

online with a Benchrest shooter and he says he has borescoped just about every aftermarket barrel out there that is used in the shortrange game. He told me that Ted's barrels are just as good as any out there. He shoots Ted's barrels and says at the present time he see's no reason to change manufacturer. That is reason enough for me to shoot Ted's barrels.

I have 2 now. One on the way and will order another in the spring.

I Have used several of Ted's barrels and I agree, they are as good as any button rifled barrel out there. I continue to be impressed by how easy they are to clean. My only criticism (And it isn't really a truly fair comparison) is that the TG Barrels I've used in 6BR's are getting about 2/3 the throat life of equivalent cut rifled barrels. This is likely the byproduct of the buttom rifle process.

I have just received one last one. I have yet to shoot it but i was super impressed with his delivery time. When i called after a few weeks to see how his schedule was doing i get "Oh, i mailed that one the other day" Super impressed with his customer service, seems like a cool guy too.

I have heard many good things about Gaillard barrels. Some other barrels you might consider are some cut rifled barrels. RKS, Krieger (riflebarrels.ca) or a McPhee (30cal only).

Mike Rock (Rock Creek Barrels) also produces some world class match grade single point cut rifled barrels. Helluva nice guy as well and outstanding customer service. Mike is out of Wisconsin but has a Canadian dealer in Alberta.

I have one of Teds barrels on a 6.5-284 bench gun Its shot 5rd groups in the 3" mark. Consistant 6". Its going to Dawson to get set back because the throats worn. As good as anything out there for sure. Just check your time difference from Sask. and for Christs sake dont call him at supper time.

Ted can be brutally difficult to talk to on the phone, with frustrating pauses and what can seen to be an abrasive nature. He isn't like that at all, but it would be easy to get the wrong idea.I don't think he knows how to talk on one of those new fangled devices. On the otherhand, few people have less tolerance for bull#### than Gaillard. I think he's a pretty cool cat.

great barrels and very knowledgeable about what he does and what contours will work for the action you are building on etc.

done a couple of guns with his barrels and will be doing more.

ted's barrels

Ted's barrels are good as any other target barrels. Had him put a barrel on a mini14 and really improved it. He is a little hard to take to since he does pause a few times on the phone but that is his nature. And as someone else said supper time is supper time, don't call then.
