I'm thinking of getting some work done on my old 686 6'' revolver.
There are some scratches on the stainless finish that need to be polished and the screws changed.
Might even want to get it refinishedin OD or black
Who can do that for S&W revolvers.
 
Scratches on SS can be polished out easily, yourself. A cloth wheel in a bench grinder and jewller's rouge will do it. A rotary tool will do. Buy some new screws and replace them. Gunparts lists the screws but they're sold out.
Brownell's sells a product made for blackening SS. Same idea as cold bluing. The other option is to have it anodized, Duracoated or one of the other paint-like finishes.
However, any smithy can polish it if you don't want to do it.
