You get offended but you were given as much info as could be gleaned from the limited # of pics and info available in your first thread and when you got what could be given by some very knowledgeable collectors you felt you needed to start a second thread with even less info and zero new pictures with any details hoping to gain more information or some magical response....sounds like you didn't get what you really wanted to hear, that you have a gun worth up to maybe a couple thousand dollars on the Canadian market when you were hoping it was some rare piece worth tens of thousands of dollars. Instead of making a second thread you should have taken the advice offered from your original thread and contacted Ithaca to get specific info and a possible value and/or posted more detailed pics of barrel and flats with proof markings, etc and added any more comments and questions to your original thread.

When you hear back from Ithaca I am sure those who posted to your thread would be quite interested in hearing what that widow has for sure. It would be nice to hear what Ithaca has to report on the model, mfg dates, if it was a custom order and by whom etc if they have those records available to you. Providence helps in determining value and knowing who may have shot the gun especially if it was someone known as a top shooter in his day adds a neat history the new guns owner would appreciate.
Hi rec d a email from Ithaca
They told me to check the water table as the grade was stamped there
It is stamped with a 7 to indicate a grade e7 and it is referred to
as a Sousa Special introduced 1918
In 1919 the cost for a grade 7 was $ 310.00
Any more info appears to have been lost in 2005

Thanks for the reply. It looked good in the pics. They were considered to be the Kolar of their day from what I recall the shooters in my introductory days to trap 40 years ago discussing. They were much sought after back before my time. Now with the change in the game and passing of time they are relegated to history and as happens in most things the folks who sought them out and dreamt of owning them were the young at the time they were available and by the time they were fortunate enough to afford such guns they were well into their adult years and were collectors of the dream guns of their youth. Nowadays many of the collectors of those items have passed on and only a select few want those era of guns. the game has outgrew that style of gun competitively at least. They do make a nice collectible club gun though for those that appreciate the old world craftsmanship of yesterday. It's the same with old cars etc......
The Sousa grade was the highest grade of Flues SBT, costing $750 when the 7e was $310.
Sousa grade guns have a Mermaid in gold on the trigger guard, and very different gold inlays on the side panels.
Interesting that the 7e checkering pattern is more complicated and more attractive to my eye, than the Sousa.
The best reference to Ithaca SBT guns, other than Walt Snyder, is a well illustrated article in Double Gun and Single Shot Journal, Volume 23, Issue 4, Winter 2012.

In the USA 5500-6500 $ I seen one that sold for 6500$ and one is sitting at 5500$ with a make me a offer beside it .
In Canada it’s anyone’s guess not anywhere near as sought after in this country we don’t have a shotgun culture like the USA
