--November Purchases--

Swedes

Just picked up a 1899 mfg Mauser Oberndorf mfg Swede Mauser 'short rifle' in the venerable 6.5x55mm. Straight bolt, matching numbers, including all small parts, fabulous bore despite the "2" indication on the stock disc. Wood could be a tad better. Overall not too shabby for a 108 year old rifle..... And this will go nicely with the 1942 mfg M38 Husqvarna mfg Swede Mauser I picked up last month.

Gotta put up some pics of the pair when I get a chance....

Nice Swastika, Heinrich

That is quite an interesting piece of military history. I take it that it commemorates Nazi soldats who undertook the genocidal campaign against the inferior races in the east, during the years 1941 and 1942.

It is a well crafted piece of metal and cloth, commemorating the courage and dedication of German soldiers. How unfortunate it was that the best characteristics of the national body were commandeered by the lunatic paper-hanger from Austria, to fashion a fearsome weapon of hate and intolerance. No doubt, Canadian and other soldiers who slaughtered the Nazis held a grudging admiration for the courage and fanaticism of their enemy. Thanks be to God that this relic of history is just that, something irrelevant and forgotten, like the evil creed that lead to such suffering and horror.

Nazis criminals left behind many interesting and compelling artifacts that continue to intrigue students of history. But in the end, one is left with all the more reverence for the allied soldiers who stood before the torrent of evil and extinguished its presence, permanently, from the face of the earth.

Nice piece.

Not the Westerners destroid Germany but the flood of milions of Soviet solders sustained with materials of war from US.
The US and British solder was not a real match for German army.in that time the German army was the best in the World.

Keep on working, milions on wellfare depend on you]

I'm not sure if I think you understand what this medal is about. I is not at all anything to do with Nazism or hate or what ever it is you are trying to say here.

This medal means one thing only. It was minted in recognition of the common German soldier's pain and suffering during the severe conditions of which he undertook during the winter of 41/42 fighting against communism. Hitler had F all to do with it. The medal represents the fighting spirit and sense of survival for the common man. Not the Nazi A-Holes back in Berlin. The soldiers on the eastern front suffered immensely and this is all the Reich could give them in recognition. That is why most soldiers of the time refer to it as the FROZEN MEAT ORDER. Because to them, the one's who suffered that is all it means. So to me as a former soldier, this medal is honorable for their suffering not for Nazism.

Please read some books about the common soldier, or better yet watch the movie Cross of Iron. That will explain better what I am saying.

Thanks.

What's better for Zombie defense? Spiked bayonets or blade?

In my opinion you need a Yugo SKS as well. I think the blade is better for taking their heads off than the spike...

Personally I think a YUGO sks is not worth the money in terms of its utility. A norc sks shoots same as a YUGO or Russian sks. Sure they have the better stock and finish, but almost double of the price~ nah, i'll stick with the nork. Plus, a Yugo sks in nice condition is hard to find today~, even the nork ones are getting harder and harder to get.
