Sako L579 Forester -308- stock replacement

I bought a Sako L579 Forester in 308 from Trade Ex recently. When I made the purchase, I knew the stock was cracked and had been repaired by the previous owner with 2 screws. I knew there was a risk that the damage could continue inside the stock and I accepted it

After taking it apart, the crack is quite a bit deeper than I thought. I would like to replace it and I found 3 options but maybe someone on the forum has contacts to find other?

option 2 at Sarcoinc, it seems that the Browning Safari stock would fit on the sako.

3rd option is Richard's Microfit stock, especially he can make it Mannlicher style which I find absolutely beautiful.

I have had really good luck with Boyd's, In have lost count of the stocks that I have bought from them, never a problem. I bought one Richards stock many years ago for a Savage 111 and I was very disappointed in the fit, it required lots of work for a fit and was just about beyond my ability to do.

That stock can of course be repaired. The Forester we have never shot well in a stock like that, even after bedding. We had a Lothar Walther barrel fitted and converted a Howa 1500 carbon stock to take the Sako action. That transformed the rifle. No matter which stock I would advise to epoxy bed the complete action and later relieve any upright surface in recoil direction except the recoil lug area. Just to make sure the recoil is transferred from the recoil lug and not the tang for example. Possible reason why the other stock cracked.

yes made by the swedish hunters association and called the moose clock. they re doing one for the bear as well.

so finally, i choose to keep the original stock and i went to a friend who make some repair and add to the stock. first he glued the stock with epoxy, he keep the screw inside but hide them with sawdust. Also he add the end of the stock 2 1/2 inc of LOP and now it's fit perfectly for me

As EJG said above, full pillar bed job should be done?
Just a recommendation. It will prevent further damage, ensure the barrel is floated, and most likely improve accuracy.
