email letter April 27 need clarification missing information please call -had checked the laid off box wrote a note that it was due to Covid and seasonal nature of my job-

Nova Scotia, 61 days total.

I had two friends renew their RPAL as well, one took 12 days (in March) and the other 14 days (in April)
I called the CFP & CFO at the 45 day mark. I really think calling them helped, because nothing seemed to move until I made that phone call.

Feb 25th - Renewed online and CC charged the same day
(Waited 45 days, the average renewal time according to the CFP website)
Apr 12th - Called CFP and CFO. CFP said they sent the paperwork to CFO weeks ago, CFO said they just received it however I was approved and to allow 10-12 days for printing.
Apr 27th - Finally received my card in the mail.

Anyone know the extension of the cfo for bc?

My payment application initiated March 22. Seems alot of bc applicants are approved in a few days. I want to call to see if there is any issue with my license and the main cfo line just says the provincial cfo has it for review and they don't have any other info.

ON Applicant
PAL course taken:1998
Origonal PAL issued in 98, I then let it expire as life and family happened before I got started shooting
Re-Application Sent: December 23th snail mail
Received(per website): Jan 5th
CC Charged: April 20th
PAL Issued:

Just got off the phone with the CFP. Apparently I screwed up a check box and they need to send out a letter for clarification...bummer. On a positive note, they informed me that I could bump my application to RPAL for only the extra 20. I sent my app in Dec before I realized I could get both with my 1998 safety course.

12Feb2021: Missing PAL course results, faxed in
26Feb2021: Was made aware I needed the SQ3007 form for RPAL in Quebec, go get it filled out at local police station, faxed in 28Feb2021
09Mar2021: "Completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date."
29Apr2021: "Your application has been processed and your license has been issued. If you have not received your license within 2 weeks please contact the Canadian Firearms Program Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)"

To all waiting after the QC CFO: Call them at 1-800 731-4000, ext 7005 to find out where they're at with your application. I've called twice and followed-up with 2 emails since last week. my RPAL got issued today.

Although I never really had any run in / issue with the law, no reference checks whatsoever and no interview either (concerning as they should have checked).

Anyhow, quite happy the wait is over and let the fun begin while going broke lol.

Check your email. They emailed me about my "check box" to call the CFO and give clarification through an "interview" was approved on the phone.

Does anyone know where they process the pal cards before they mail them to us? Is it in ontario?

Finally got mine in the mail today. It said it was issued April 9 online but the paper copy which the card was attached to said it was issued April 19th. That’s here in Alberta. Time to shop tomorrow.
