Billet aluminum lowers for AR180B enroute! Pic added.

Yay! I like sharpened edges! :D
Should I mention if it wasn't for my fantastic concept ideas and drafting skills, you'd still be working on custom combine parts? :p

How many 180s are there in Canada? What percentage of these would be converted? Just thinking of market size. Are you thinking of selling these into the US?

We can't sell them into the US due to US law, I think.

As for market size, yes it's a small market but this may just be the stepping stone for a complete rifle.

Well, there is a market here for an unrestricted .223 that is more desirable than a Mini, and less expensive than the top end rifles. Might be possible to use a lot of parts already in production - could be easier than manufacturing them. Thinking about fire control group, bolthead, barrel extension, etc. Don't know how big the market is - it would be a niche one without export sales.

If you could sell a complete gun then you'd be in the $$$.

Any chance of your manufacturer producing uppers and barrels in the future as well? I'm assuming you could buy the trigger group and the bolt seperately from armalite to keep things simpler...

I've always wanted an ar, but having to go to a range to shoot it put me right off. Since this would be non restricted, I'll be watching it very closely... depending on the end result I may be a purchaser. That said, I'm broke, so it's good it isn't coming any time soon. Good for making something kick butt in canada! (maybe have a maple leaf on it?)

I was told by Wolverine that Armalite sells the uppers separate but it's in the area of $800, further ahead getting a full rifle.

I don't want to start making claims of uppers being made as it's not up to me. I'm a lowly stubble jumper that managed to convince these guys to make my unoriginal design.

There are a couple of handgun manufacturers in Canada that export thier guns and parts to the USA so exporting lowers may not be out of the question .

$800 damn..

Yeah just buying the full rifle from wolverine and then getting your aluminum lower sounds like the best bet...

Now if someone could convince wolverine to actually stock these things we'd be in business...

True, but those aren't "assualt rifles". The yanks can't even get stuff from FN unless it's made in the USA. FN has a lot more money at it's disposal than I do.

I've been running through the Solidworks tutorials today so hopefully by the weekend I'll have a 3D model of the refined version for you guys to get a better idea what it will look like. To hell with AutoCAD, never going back. This Solidworks is so easy to model stuff.
