I’d be careful calling a person a racist. That is a powerful word and it implies that the person has a hatred for a given race and actively promotes violence towards them. That word is thrown around much to easily these days and often is not challenged.
To say there is maybe some cultural ignorance going on here is fair. I eat pork and have eaten deer tongue, caul fat, testicles, heart and liver. Fair to say I utilize lots of the animals I kill and partake in the consumption of animals that other cultures take a pass on. Whatever....who cares.
Now, I will say this, objecting to things that other cultures find normal, but tend to cause suffering or are morally abhorrent (like the use of endangered animal parts in “traditional” Chinese medicine that has no basis in science and treats erectile disfunction, or the terrible treatment of women in SOME Muslim religious sects) is not racist. I have as much right to think this is repugnant as the next guy. I can’t imagine that eating the nasty tough skin on a bears paw could ever be delicious and to argue you are utilizing the entire animal is dubious IMO, however, if it’s legally harvested, fill your boots. If you are selling it into what appears to be a strange lucrative black market....well, sorry, buh bye.
