Most overrated rifle

Gonna say the BAR. Love em, but still a pita to work on with the old models prior to the trigger group pins, and the god awful magazines. Picked up a few with poor assembly issues and jamming problems over the years, just proving sometimes even browning QA/QC were asleep.

Remington 700 hands down
It goes bang like most rifles, so i never felt the gun was over rated so much as big green fans overhyped it. But at the same time, never had one leave me in awe.

Remington 700. A mediocore rifle with a massive following for unknown reasons along with a massive aftermarket to make it good(by which point you might as well have bought a custom rifle to start with). A favourite of the fudds, and the moment you try a comparably priced tikka side by side with any of them at basically any store you wonder what the hype is about.

You missed the best part of a 700, the design....the gas sealing ability with the 3 rings of steel.
There isn't a custom rifle, nor any comparible commercial rifle that comes close to that safety.
Tikka is the perfect example of overrated, built as cheaply as humanly possible, one action length for all cartridges, garbage factory stock, garbage bedding system, $100 plastic magazines, but hey the action is as smooth as a $400 Savage Axis...yay for that feature lol.

Browning SA 22. I bought one new and while it was very accurate it was also a jam o matic ,it would shoot about 4 rounds then stop.No matter what I did like a complete strip down ,switch ammo etc it would jam.Now I might of got a one off lemon but it still was a disappointment .

at todays prices people are getting on ee and other places i would say all of them.damn a marlin 45-70 for 18-1900 when they were 900 just a year ago.winnies you could get for around 550 now new 1900 and used at 1000 plus .everything is getting out of control ,too much free money from trudeau . gunwerks for 14 grand you got to be kidding

I'm mostly an older used gun kind of guy, but I went through a phase where I wanted to try just about every new budget gun for ####s n giggles, bought them all, tried them all, and really the only conclusion I came to was they all shoot OK for hunting, some can shoot exceptionally well, all have some kind of shortcomings, but some worse them others.
The only one that stands out as overrated is the Ruger American, it's just all around a poorly made rifle, stock is terrible, machine work is terrible, out of the 2 I had neither one shot acceptable even for hunting.

Push feed M70's are still a pretty good bargain in the used market, still see them all over for $400+$600.

10/22. Out of box not reliable nor accurate.

And everything used Husqvarna. These guns are only here because the Swedes do not want them anymore.

Another guy who doesnt know what he's talking about!
The few tikkas I've seen didn't even shoot straight, short plastic magazines. Not a reloaders rifle for sure.

Ironic seeing that most factory remingtons can't do better than 1.5moa. Which these days is frankly pathetic. But keep talking fudd, amuse us with your "knowledge"

Trying to talk #### about a tikka action being not smooth when trying to defend the remington 700 is the textbook definition of irony when i have yet to see a factory remington come even close... how many trigger recall has the tikka had? Yeah thought so. Of course that is using it as an example, one of many.

And the mauser action is significantly more durable than the remington... always has been.

Sub 2K. I had 2 of them, neither were particularly reliable. The receivers had enough give in them that the hammer/trigger could pop out of their home and jam the rifle up. Also the safeties could engage when firing.

Even if they worked they were horribly uncomfortable to shoot. It was fairly unpleasant for a 9mm and the buffer tube would slap your cheek. Mounting optics completely negated the whole folding feature. The folding feature is actually more of a gimmick than a useful feature.

Well I give you that the accuracy of 10-22 is questionable. However I never seen one technically out of box unreliable with its factory ten round mag.
Did you return it to the store for a replacement?
Maybe others can pipe in on this?
