Hello,

https://youtu.be/AQ5Fhb395i8

This is an old video, but I'm looking for advice on this load. Has anyone made these? I'm looking for an economical wildlife deterrence load and this looks to be easy enough to make. Let me know your experiences.

Yes I do recall seeing the above thread now. A bit different than a single rubber baton but I'm sure both work well. I think I already reached out and asked but if you are willing and able I will pay for some. Same goes for anyone else here. I'm not able to justify $25 for 5 shots of novelty ammo that lightfield sells.
Hit me up with a pm.

Open the top of your shot shell, pour out the pellets and fill it with melted wax/paraffin. The type you get at the grocery store, used for canning.

Cheap and effective.

It will tear a strip of hair from side of a Bear and will not penetrate.

I have a tool to make these, but I thought they would break apart without the lead shot, or the powder won't burn properly due to the load being to light?

They work just fine, out to about 20 yards. That melted wax sticks to the wads like glue and the wad holds it all together until it hits something.

I've never seen the end result but I'm willing to bet there is one heck of a bruise to go along with the haircut.

Just thought I'd post an update for those interested.
I found a way to make these cheap and easy from federal 100 pack low brass 2 3/4 inch and "Z-ballz Riot Balls" which are a hard dense plastic 68 caliber paintball reball.

1. Remove crimp. I have a prepper tool that cuts the crimp out and leaves a lip to retain original wad.

2. Empty lead shot.
Keep for other projects.

3. Pop in Zball.
Takes force but pops in and stays in.

4. Done!

These things move! Nearly stuck in a 6x6 pressure treated at 20 meters. Leaves a small amount of unburnt powder due to being a lighter load, but makes a fireball!

These are fairly accurate and a perfect deterrent to wildlife.
