You got that right tiriaq.... very professional instruction !! My wife attended the clinic last year and she absolutely loved every minute of it... well, the advance and fire stage was intense. I too loved that match.

It might be touch and go for me since I've got a 2100 hrs pickup at Buffalo Airport on Sat evening. Barb's coming home from Cairo through NY City and then we've got to hoof it through GTA and back to Collingwood at night.

Tiriaq, I'll keep you posted when/ if I can make it up. Still house hunting for a rental today also.... We've got one month to pack and then move from this house.

Okay, back to the carbine clinic. Rifledude , you bringing that red dot sighted carbine of yours ?

Had a very enjoyable weekend. The new covered firing point on the 100m range was certainly appreciated on Saturday afternoon, when it just poured. Sunday was a fine day, cool, some sunny periods. We practiced drills, techniques, positions, marksmanship principles, discussed technical issues. In addition to the OSA CQB match, we practiced and then shot the new FIBUA (Fighting In Built Up Area) match which was intoduced during CFSAC this year. Very interesting and challenging match. 40 rds, fired 10 each at 100, 75, 50 and 25. All snaps or rapid. 100 is 3 sec. for 1 shot standing, followed 2 seconds later by one shot kneeling at fig. 12, also in three seconds. Shoot, drop, shoot. Eight seconds to run to 75. Snap shooting, standing at fig. 11, three second exposures. Eight seconds to 50. Snap shooting, five second exposures at fig. 14. Eight seconds to 25. Three exposures of three seconds, 10 rounds to be fired. Interesting with 5 rd. magazines. One up the spout, load 5 rd. mag., fire three, three, reload with four for final exposure; or: load with 5 rd. mag., fire four on first exposure, reload with 5 rd. mag., fire three and three. All targets scored V, 5, 4; 6" V in fig. 12, 2" in fig. 14. We incorporated a short pause before each advance to allow magazines, etc. to be prepared, it is a bit much to expect that all shooters will have 8 magazines ready to go.
I expect that our carbine matches will incorporate both the OSA match and the FIBUA match as the record courses of fire next season. Running two relays, both matches can be fired in one afternoon.

I had a great time too. Lots of rounds downrange (allmost 500 by my accounting) and lots of good practice before shooting the new FIBUA and the standard OSA CQB matches on Sunday. Great guys to shoot and BS with. Kudos to #### who won the agregate despite having a lot of mag problems. I'm taking the day off to give my aching old muscles a rest. All-in all a great weekend despite the rain on Saturday and cold on Sunday. That just made the experience more interesting

We will be setting our 2008 schedule soon. It is our intention to host one formal match a month, as well as a less formal event such as a practice or clinic, April through November. There should be four two day Service rifle matches, plus CQB/FIBUA, Service and Operational Pistol, Operational Sniper Rifle, plus a couple of fun matches.

OSA Membership Renewals?

Will they be sending out reminders or anything for 2008 membership renewals?

And yes, please publish the schedule as soon as you can, we are bidding next year's vacation at work now.
