OK, You asked for it ... What are the most boring RIFLE cartridges?

In Canada, the 50 BMG is the most boring, because you are not allowed to shoot it. Hard to be more boring than that!

To admit one is the most boring is in effect to admit that you've bought into the current hype that the new ones are more exciting which they are not.

Many folks here will list the 30-06 as the most boring but it's about the best choice for a one gun hunter. Go figure.

I agree with the .30-06. Its my choice for the most boring cartridge but also my choice for the most versatile one as well.

Not to mention the amount of reloading components for it and the amount of rifles it's chambered in. It should be runner up for the least boring.

Joking aside, I don't really think any caliber is boring. Though I guess calibers you can't legally shoot would be kinda boring just sitting there unused.

The ratio of 30-06s to other rifles is probably higher than any other, so there will always be lots for sale.

Also, folks buy into the new & improved big hype and sell off their '06s thinking that they will be in a better spot without them. Not!

.223/5.56 for me. It's just boring for me, there's nothing special about it. I understand why it's used in fighting rifles and what not, but it just doesn't do anything for me.

223 and 308 i find boring. They work for their intended purposes but when i take mine out its anh boring. I do like the rifles in which both are chambered in and they now sit in chassis systems. Both will be rechambered once the barrels are burnt out. Maybe sooner for the 308
