Anyone know what the situation is with these things post-OIC? I haven't noticed them in stock anywhere in the past half year or so, I'm left wondering if retailers are just not ordering them due to a lack of demand or something.

I believe Hical is bringing some in to go with their SKS AR magwell adapter. Cross Industries said they were working on a Cross Mag model in this calibre, but they have said nothing about this lately. Between the modded SKS, 7.62x39 mm MCRs, any bolt action stanag mag 7.62x39 mm (Ruger Ranch?, MRA Renegade and SBI LPC) and the upcoming J180 builder kits used to make a 7.62x39 mm , these will continue to be popular and harder to come by.

In theory they will be banned at the end of the amnesty the if they take the xcrs away from people... If they grand father it will remain grey zone

As the only pistol that uses these mags are xcr micros if they are gone then there is no avalible pistol and the mags are prohibited defacto... Same with the lar15 mags

With the order nly thing protecting the vendors being the grey language of the amnesty i can see why a lot of vendors dont want to put in a big order of them

Is the pistol magazine rule only for factory pistols? Would a manufacturer need to manufacture a 7.62x39 mm pistol WK180-C or Jard J180, or would someone just have to register a personal pistol build to get a magazine labelled as a 180 pistol? Or would that be too likely to end up with the pistol magazine rules being changed and made more restrictive?

"Commercially avalible' is the name of the game.... Wolverine could put out a mcr istol... Were good to go on mags.

But why do you think the XCR was on the hit list and the ACR, T97, tavor etc weren't?

All about the pistol version and mag loop hole.

Ar15 and XCr pistols open up the loop hole for all the ar mag fed guns for both ar15, and ar10 mag based platforms.

You put out a pistol right now that takes ar mags, i bet within 30 days they hit it with an oic ban.

Tavor does use AR-15/10 mags.

They do appear at dealers but sell out quickly, demand for them is higher than ever with the new WS/WX platform available in 7.62
You really have to scan for them every day and jump on them when they appear. There have been a bunch on the EE recently which also sell quickly but look there also

There’s no grey area as far as I can tell. There are many models of Prohibited pistol out there, and there is no restriction on acquiring their magazines. The XCR Micro is a (now) prohibited pistol, why should it be treated any differently?
