Hey guys

I have a Browning X-bolt medallion, in .308, that I recently picked up. It’s a very accurate rifle and I shoot it well, both off hand and at a bench. The only part I’m not super keen on is the polymer mag it comes with. I am well aware that these are proven to be strong and reliable, but on a rifle with a higher grade finish like this, I’d prefer a more traditional drop plate, internal magazine system.

Does anyone know of any options for a conversion like this? I’ve done quite a bit of digging and research and can’t find much in the way of any aftermarket support for an X-bolt, let alone bottom metal kits.

Any constructive information or recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I think you are s h i t out of luck as far as a drop plate, internal magazine system goes... I am certain no one would make such an item to fit such a specialized shape required.

Why buy a detachable magazine rifle if that is not what you want? Buy a Remington 700, there are some nice custom drop plate, internal magazine systems for it.

On the other hand you have a fine rifle that functions well as it is...

Yeah, I’m not particularly upset about the mag it has, jut figured if I could get one, I’d probably switch it over

If you can find someone to manufacture this one of a kind item, and do it nicely ... I think it would cost more than the rifle did...

3D scan.

Machine shops have these now, call around. Then you gotta pay for the scanning, and have someone 3D print it or mill out what you want on a 4 axis CNC.

Can be done with phone calls and money. Pitter patter
