I don't think a muzzle device contributes to OAL.

Word on the street is Sig added a machined aluminum block between the receiver and the stock.
(I have not seen it with my own eyes. Just what I've heard.)

Based on photos of the shipping guns, it seems the barrel is actually longer than 16”. In the original marketing photos, the barrel just clears the hand guard. On recent photos it extends a good bit beyond. Someone said there was a new FRT entry with 422mm barrel spec which is longer than the original 406mm variant that is restricted. If this is true, it’s surprising that SIG is offering a variant with longer barrel for this market.
