Gotta' say, those Colt Canada T-Shirts & caps are pretty sweet! Wish I could get in on this action! Figured you guys wearing the green suit these days might not be aware of the contest so here's a head-up! Good luck to all of you!

Colt Canada CAN NOT sell to Canadians in or out of uniform...how many times does this have to be said.

How much have they really protested at this clause?

I will give a damn about about Colt Canada when they put an honest effort into trying to get access to our market. The political climate is right for it, why not try?

Support for Colt Canada

Can not ..

Will not.

Does it really matter...........

I think it does, because Colt Canada supports DCRA matches, the kind you can use your AR15s in shooting alongside armed forces personnel. These matches have international standing. Absence of such sanctioned matches will make it easier to get bans and confiscations going.

It does matter, I have spoken with the ** Rep and he stated in no uncertain terms that he/they would love to sell to Canadians...they simply cannot...it took years before they were even allowed to sell to Canadian Law Enforcement Agencies, even now US sales take a precedent over local LE orders.

Yeah but in the end if they really wanted to sell to civies they would.. and they dont, so vote with your wallet and buy another brand. Colt by not selling to civies is basically saying civies shouldnt be allowed to own ARs.. if anything thier refusal to sell to the civlian market will result in bans/ confiscations as it shows that a manufaturer believes that their product should not be in civilian hands. This carries more weight with government then them supporting some shooting match.

OK, clearly we disagree here. On the flip side I simply don't see how anything that gives more and positive exposure to our Warriors is a bad thing. JMO.

Ok I think anything that shows our troops in a good PR light is great. But Colt? Those guys can drink a nice steaming cup of shut the #### up. When a mfg says their guns arent for civilian use this does way more to justify confiscation and a ban on EBRs than some fat sow spouting off from ryerson does.

And what Colt does sell in the US to the civilian market? Their legendary quality seems abit hit or miss these days...

I feel like im hijackin the thread so Ill shut up... but really companies like Ruger were instrumental in getting the AWB going in the US... Colt is in the same boat...

Maybe a nice glossy 8x10 of NWEST kicking in your door with their Colt SBRs, coming to confiscate your AR one day might change your mind?

You probably get it anyways...but probably own a safe full of Colts so are bias all the same... :)

Some of you guys are delusional.

You have one customer that will regularly spend $100 at your store yearly.

You have ten customers that will spend $150 once.

Which one would you choose? It's simple economics.

Dude...sometimes a photo contest is just a photo contest;)

Well, the issue I don't get with Colt Canada, is that they can't/won't sell to active military/police officers, yet the main company "Colt" will. Providing you have the correct paperwork signed.

Doesn't that seem odd?

No your just like everybody else on this board who isnt military...why should you get a special deal?;)

Wasn't my intention to start a pissing contest fellas! As I understand it, its a Canadian restriction that prevented Diemaco & now Colt Canada to sell to civilians. I agree, that rule sucks & I'm not that happy with how Colt Defense treats non-military shooters.

That said, I figured I'd post this photo contests for the guys who have the balls to put their ass on the line over in Afghanistan, & I'm guessing that chances are, there are some board members who were on exchange when the fracas in Iraq started and saw some action in that s**thole, that it'd be nice if they got a free T-shirt, cap, etc...that they could make the rest of us drool over.

I'm not advocating for Colt Canada & in no way, shape or form am I endorsing their current corporate policies or decision to sign such limiting contracts. I just wanted to give our homegrown warriors their due and maybe have a chuckle and a feeling of pride seeing a fellow CGN member kicking ass and taking names on the Colt Canada web site.

Diemaco had to sign that contract back when they started producing AR's for the Canadian military. they had no choice, sign, or no makey money. It was not their choice, it was the governments, and there is nothing they can do to fix it.

send in a bunch of pics of you at the range firing bushmasters etc with a caption saying "I wish it was a colt but I can't buy em"
