There doesn't seem to be a forum for this question but this one seems closest. I know I could spend several hours researching this question (and still might) but wondering if anyone could provide the "Coles Notes" version? What is the general consensus opinion on best .308 caliber modern semi-auto and .556 semi-auto? I should clarify "best" - what I mean it best value - don't need a $10K rifle in the safe!
I have a Kel-Tec SU-16 that I quite like. It currently has a bit of a stove-piping issue but that seems solvable. I used to have a M305 but sold it a couple of years ago - seemed heavy, clunky and awkward. I know there's some new-generation stuff out there but having a bit of a time sorting the wheat from the chaff.
Expert (and other) opinions welcomed.
