Marstar, would you consider bringing in Norinco 97 bullpups?

Would you buy this bullpup from Marstar?

Cool pictures, but you have the info mixed a little.
In the picture above, the one you call type 97 sniper rifle is in fact a Type88. There are much less Type 88 guns in 5.56, as it was out of production for long time. I am in the process of buying a Type 88 from Lector.
I have seen both Type 97 and Type 88, in 5.56, side by side on a table and he took them apart in front of me yesterday. They look similar, but are in fact 2 different rifles. The parts are not interchangeable or at least the ones Lector has they can not interchange any of the parts. I looked very close at all the parts and they are different. They were designed 8 years apart. Even more so, from what I understand the Type 88 in any of the calibers was out of production for long time.

The bottom line is that this post shows there is a solid demand for
a reasonably priced, ideally non-restricted, black rifle that shoots 5.56.

I see no reason (but John might) why Marstar could not make a profit on this transaction.

I really hope it comes to pass.

Is it me, or does anyone else find it very curious that Marstar (John) has yet to chime in on this thread?????

It would be great if he'd import all 3 sizes and at under 800$ they should sell like warm apple pie at the county fair, especially since you can use 10 round pistol mags.

I think 800 or so is fair.

They look like good plinkers for range use but the ergonomic design has some major issues that make the manual of arms kinda sucky.

1)safety at the rear end of the butt-so support hands off rifle to flip safety- or you are forced to charge the weapon when threat appears. Unless you want to run around with a hot weapon with no safety on .....

2) it should have a lever mag release instead of a side button. Reaching around to release mag is too fine as a motion.

3) why put a central charging handle while the rifle is not even ambidixous? As least the FAMAS is ambidixous....this arangement makes no sense.

For fact action, it won't be close to that of an AR or TAVOR. For that, I pay 800 bucks for a toy as a no stress causal plinker.

I know John is away because the first thing he does is use the search button to hunt out any reference to Marstar and then writes names in caps. LOL

DECKARD: I'm surprised by this thread. 250 possible orders. I'll look into it. With this many orders, the price could be even lower than anyone thinks.

OK: This is all supposition. For ####sngiggles.

For the record, I proposed Marstar for two reasons:

A) Price.
B) Service. I know John will not call these new rifles "surplus." If something goes awry, he'll stand by it.

BTW: I'm curious about the 58L supply. I missed the last shipment.

3) why put a central charging handle while the rifle is not even ambidixous? As least the FAMAS is ambidixous....this arangement makes no sense.

I'm a southpaw, but will get one. I will make it work, or pick brass out of my teeth. LOL. (I'm thinking about making a deflecting shield.)

For that matter GT, the selector location is baked.
