My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

Here's a few targets shot lately by Mrs. Allan Harris with her Bergara & "MY" new Vudoo:d

Bergara group sizes 373, 335, 365, 342, 326, 248, 488, 355 - Average 8X5 = 354

Vudoo group sizes 380, 324, 186, 246, 289, 227, 221, 375, 304, 301, 179, 209, 316 - Average 13X5 = 274. These groups were shot yesterday starting with a cold, clean bore & two lot numbers of SK Long Range

The Vudoo has only a handful of rounds through it but has run perfectly "out of the carton" and the 22" Bartlein will be a good shooter.

Great shooting Mrs Allan Harris. I added you to the successful list.

Hi CGN friends.
I took the challenge at my local 50m range. It was a somewhat windy evening. Had to use the wind flags and wait for the lulls. Took a while, but I think I got it done.

Target shot on July 16, 2021.
Ammo: SK Biathlon Sport.

Average group size = 0.335"

Quick question. Are you measuring a single hole first to figure out how much to subtract off the overall group size? For example i measured a single 8 shot group from the weekend at .380 then measured a single shot hole at .1980. So the type of paper seems to make a different size hole.

Ps i know 8 shot group is weird but it was the leftover in a box after shooting my last score target at a match.

Well, the last row with Center-X was much better until one single round on the last target made it fail. But rules are the rules. Still, My Bergara B14R made it with SK STD+ at 50m yesterday July 20th first row on the picture.

Ok. Here it is. The challenge is to shoot 5 five shot groups with a 22lr at 50 yards/meters under 1/2"

Here are the requirements for the challenge:

You must use a 22 lr

There is no restriction on action type or cost of the firearm

You may use any 22lr ammo you wish

You must shoot five 5 shot groups at 50 yards/meters

All 5 groups must be under 1/2"

All 5 groups must be on the same paper

You must show the full sheet of paper (no cutting a strip off). If you are shooting a strip of paper you must show the before and after.

There cannot be any other groups on your "official" target

There cannot be anything on your target that could be hiding any group or bullet hole that is not part of your "official" attempt

All the attempts at the challenge must have been shot after the challenge was issued

Your post must include the following:

A pic of your rifle and the rest you used

A pic of your target with all 5 groups visible and the group sizes and group average written on the target

A pic of your largest group with a set of calipers to verify the group size

Your rifle info

Your post must also have THE GROUP SIZES AND AVERAGE WRITTEN IN THE POST

Please put all your info into ONE POST. If you forgot anything please EDIT your post to include the missing info

ALL POSTS MUST HAVE THE REQUIRED INFO OR I WILL IGNORE THEM UNTIL ALL THE INFO IS INCLUDED IN THE POST!!!!!

Most importantly, have fun and be safe.

That’s a great shooting Savage. I added you to the successful list.

Made the challenge today with my Tuff22.

I tested a couple torque settings with the action screw and the rear *anchor*.

I fired only around 500 rounds since new and the breakin period is just finished.

I did printed some pretty tight groups on other targets, better than my successful attempt but failed the challenge on those targets.

Rifle : TUFF22 with KIDD barrel and trigger ( gotta love this 2 stage trigger )
Ammo : Lapua Center-X
Mystic precision bipod and Protektor rear bag.
Scope : SWFA 20X

Best group : .282
Average : .387

Groups size : .460, .410, .282, .450, .334

My anschutz won't do it with some ammo. I tried a lot of ammo before I found what it liked. Try some more ammo before you give up on the gun.

This. SK RM is the bottom level of consistency that I find to attempt this. Higher cost ammo takes out some of the high and low hits that wreck a tight group. I’ve spent a lot of time and $$ in my life trying to make a silk purse out of sow’s ear.
