Glock trained techs

Thanks to all who PM’ed me so far with info. Follow up and bump for anyone who has missed this post, is there a warranty repair dealer for civilians in Canada?

P.S. Maybe you should tell us what's wrong. Glocks, heck most firearms, don't require much knowledge to diagnose and fix. Don't be fooled by the "armorer" title, they usually don't know much more than a layperson, lol.

Thanks I'm in the same boat with my Gen 5 Glock 17. None of the magazine's the gun came with will hold the slide open on last round. I have ruled out shooter technique.

You might try contacting Big Rock Sports or AmChar Canada who are both Importers/Distributors for Glock in Canada. They 'should' know who the warranty/ repair depot is.

Jim is a great guy and will look after you. Unfortunately he is extremely busy and sometimes is delayed in his reply. So if you do reach out to him you may have to have a bit of patience.

Check your magazine followers, are they stamped with a "6"? Glock has upgraded them, new ones are stamped "7"
Was done to correct the issue you are referring too.
High thumbs grip though will still release the slide from time to time

All of the mag followers are stamped with a "2"

If this is for a Glock 17 Gen 5, your mag followers should be orange and marked either part #1265 (10 round) or part #5233 (17 round) which are also marked with a 7.

Older mags are marked with 4, 5, or 6 and are part number 1812.

A black follower marked 2183-2 is for 10 round 9mm but is older, would not be shipped with a Gen 5.

They are stamped 2183 on all the mags. Should I contact Glock?

If this was a new Glock Gen 5 purchase, they should be orange followers. If you bought the gun used, someone swapped out the mags from the originals. Maybe that's why the gun is not locking back if the follower is not the correct one for the Gen 5 ambi slide release.

so you re telling that gen3 or gen 4 mags are not working in a gen5?

maybe an exception but my old mags are working in a g45 and g19x ... that is not a g17gen5 but same lenght except the barrel and slide part.

I don't have a Gen 5 to compare but I would think the earlier mags should work in the Gen 5 but I wonder if there is a difference in the follower that would cause his slide to not lock back when empty. Your 19X and 45 both have the ambi slide release, do they lock back with older mags when they are empty?

yes. the only problem will be if you put the safety on the side for left hander. im left handed but trained with right hand glock so i did not change them.

They all have orange followers. I've never tried any previous generation mags in it.
