anyone see the price of ammo for the 17 hmr?
$24.95/50 at Bass Pro - when I first got my 17 HMR it was $14.95 for the same box
Glad I stocked up last year have about 400'ish rounds that have the yellow tip
Reading this thread reminded me I have to put a new scope on mine - I like it crisp/clear fixed magnification - if I can put a few shots inside a four inch circle at 200 yards its good enough

I had a 6-24x on mine, it was helpful in shooing a grouse in the retina. I now have dropped a 4-12x on it and have yet to take it out hunting.
I also have an unopened box of CCI vmax with the picture of the golpher with a hard hat on. Says $11.99 I think on the sticker. Sure wish that price was current.

I use a 100m zero on my 17hmr gopher gun. But if you look at the ballistics, it pretty much crosses dead on at 50, so a 50 zero and a 100 zero are nearly the same thing. Atleast on my 17hmr with about a 5.4cm scope over bore measurement.

I have the Millet 6-24x56 LRS-1 (35mm tube) on 3 of my Savages .22's and also on my Ruger Precision Rimfire and they work very well and are bright!

I like my 6.5 to 20 Nikon .that one has the fine crosshair.

There is no such thing as too much glass on a rimfire a buddy of mine used to shoot late summer grasshoppers, they are hard to hit.
