It took 56 years of procrastination but I finally pulled the trigger and got my hunting licence. With multiple friends buying properties up north (none even have their PAL!) I was getting tired of going up to help while spying wildlife everywhere on each trip. I'll be in the Chiswick/Powassan/Trout Creek area of Ontario so if you know of any good areas for waterfowl or deer my ears are open.

Congratulations!
It's never too late to start!

That's my stomping ground.
So what's the incentive here to share hunting locations? Maybe you have exclusive access through your landowner friends to a remote speckled trout lake? Or a pond dirty with mallards and wood ducks? Possibly you drew a moose tag for WMU 48? Have a canoe ready to go?
PM me if you just want to get together to say hi but bringing something to the table is the way to foster relationships.

I got mine at 10 years old. Go into everything gradually. Buy a 270, 410 and 12 gauge. Then hunt for grouse, duck, geese and big game. I grew up in Portland Ont. Ask lots of questions and watch some u tube videos. I'm watching u tube videos on how to catch 100 foot deep lake trout.

PM me with your email, hand-of-zeus, and I'll try to help you out. Some ideas came to me for grouse and waterfowl, but finding places to rifle hunt deer is a little tougher.
One thing is its nice to have the backwoods chip for Garmin GPS maps since it shows trails and where the crown land is. I can send some screenshots.
