Hi CGNers,

I am posting this hoping for answers or any helps on a Glock 17 Gen 4 I recently got from EE. The original owner stated it has a set of aftermarket competition springs.

Issue I just noticed (Or I don't know if it is really an issue): When depressing the trigger halfway down without firing, and letting the trigger go back slowly, neiter the trigger nor the safety lever goes back to it's original position and hence the safety lever lost it's function. The trigger still can be pulled but there is no safety anymore.

It is something I need to concern about and take action on? If so what do I need to do? Thanks in advance.

Does not sound safe to me i would take it in somewhere and get it checked out should not be pricey either the springs are installed wrong or something needs replacing
Glock parts are super cheap
P.S i have one and it does not do that
I did some work on it extended release and slide stop etc and the spring system is pretty simple

Some kits will do this. I did a Zev competition kit alongside a Zev 3.5lb connector on my gen3 17, and the trigger dingus would come just shy of resetting, though the trigger reset was fine. I talked to Zev tech support, and if I recall, putting a 3lb striker spring in is what solved it for me. I may have put the factory trigger spring back in, but I don't remember.

Update: Changed back to Glock OEM trigger spring solved the issue. Had to order from Vancouver (!) to ship to Ontario.

Thanks to all replies!

Replacement original ('OEM') parts are widely available.

If you order replacement original ('OEM') parts from a reputable retailer (like Nordic Marksman), and then install them, you'll be back in business in no time.
