Just got lucky and inherited a Russian barreled action and bolt assy complete SKS.

I want to get her shooting again.
I cant stand seeing an incomplete gun.

Anyone know a source that has SKS parts in stock?
I got a WTB add up as well.
A lot of guys are selling single parts for half the price of a whole rifle. I get the prices went up but Im also not smoking ####ing crack here lol.....

Looking for a wood stock Chinese or Russian, Gas Tube with wood Chinese or Russian and a complete Trigger Group Chinese or Russian.

I can't seem to find a vendor with parts for sale but like most gun stuff in Canada, sites are junk and word of mouth seems to be king

Be VERY careful selecting a Chinese wood stock for the threaded barrel of Soviet sks. The location of the crossbolt for pressed/pinned barrels is not the same as for threaded barrels. The difference in crossbolt placement is small, but that difference is significant.

The wood stock is no problem but the gas tube and trigger are very desirable. Lever and doctordeals had them low but not anymore especially when you add tax and shipping. Your best bet is to keep looking on the EE.

Ack.
I know the Chinese stocks have a square cut recess in the stock as the barrel receiver mate up tapers on the russians vs the Chinese.
I did not know about the cross bolt location being in a different spot.
Maybe I'll source a russian stock specific just to be safe.

I ended up picking up a trigger assy for 90 bucks ish from a vendor
Good enough. I got the complete barreled action for free.
So a trigger assy for 90 bucks.
If I can get a stock for around 30 or 40 and an upper gas tube (really just need the wood actually as I have the tube and piston)
For around 30 to 40 bucks Ill have a functioning rifle for under 200 is my goal here.

Given the potential for crossbolt misfit, your best option is to wait for a Soviet stock, or an early chinese stock with the potbellied fore end cut for a blade bayonet. Woth the tapered fore ends cut for spike bayos, its essentially a crap shoot.

Good luck.

Please post your progress as the rifle comes together!

The upper wood should come with the stock, I bought a nice Russian stock with handguard wood for $45 I think shipped.

BUT, do you have the pin for the gas tube? If it is in, removal is a PITA, you need a very small punch and punch it out from the correct side. I found the aftermarket pins too small, rather used the existing one even when it was a little bent.
