What 22 LR barrel + modular chassis options?

At my new shooting club every range is a lineup but the dedicated 22LR range (20-100 meters) is mostly empty. So why not get one nice piece of art for that convenience?
My taste is not with furniture guns but I like the nakid chassis (modular) the most.
Today in my way home from the range I stop by a store for a good education, also look at the inventory what they have on display. I can get there a MTC (ACC) chassis and a CZ (457) barrel+action, but the CZ doesn't come in a barrel only (at least this what they told me) and I will end up having spare parts (some wood stock) which I have paid for but don't like anyway, and this is actually what I would like to avoid.
What modular chassis + barrel in 22LR you can recommend me to research (possibly available in CA), some nice match grade for competition level scoring?

I had a MDT LSS-RF Gen II with the Skeleton Carbine Stock. I switched to the new XRS and no regrets. The XRS comes with two grips, vertical and pistol grip. I prefer the vertical grip. I can now shoot weak side with a good cheek weld where as the carbine stock I could not. The XRS has a wider forend which is much more stable off a front rest. The LSS-RF GEN II is narrow and would tilt side to side very easily. Personal, I actually prefer the feel of a polymer stock over a aluminum chassis especially when shooting in the cold weather.

I wish I had the option to purchase just a barrel action back then. Maybe my next project 22 rifle will begin with a Bergara B14R SS barreled action.

If you have the budget get an MDT ACC. It is designed for prs style shooting and works well. Bergara barreled action, or Ultimatum Deuce barreled action, or Zermatt RimX with an IBI 1:12 barrel to out in the ACC.

What is a main contrast between the CZ 457 vs Bergara barreled action to justify a price difference?
My budget is reasonably open, this shall be my first 22lr for practice/target shooting in many decades (powderburner vs PCP air rifles I have several high-end)

If this is your case skip all mentioned above and go straight to a Vudoo and be done with it.

Theres a gentleman with a completely set up Vudoo with all the boxes checked on the EE. It has fired 50 rounds of Lapua Center X. Might be an option. Good luck however you proceed. Insite or GBT are both great to deal with and stand behind their products. Highest marks too both.

Basically the Bergara is a Rem 700 footprint. Uses Rem 700 triggers, chassis etc. If I was in your position I would go with a Deuce with an IBI 1/12 barrel in an ACC. If I had the budget I would go with a Tangent Theta. Voodoo was the first big name in the custom 22 space. I’m not sure that they are better than the other custom action options, and the little bit of “our “secret sauce” is what makes us better than all the others” grates a little bit. I think the faster twist 22 barrels are the future of 200+yd Rimfire. Voodoo’s lead time on that may be quite a while, vs a Canadian option.

Thanks guys I am trying to learn from every word you told me.
Just got home from my gunclub a minute ago, all custom rifles today lining up on all benches, and what I was surprised nobody at the 22LR range.
Also, the TangentTheta scope looks great, but for now I think (I think, again) that my Falcon X50 would be just a "good enough" to start with. I was shooting my FX Impact with it today @ 100 and I learned that I suck (and that is not just because in past two years I got rusty sitting at home).

Regarding twist rate, where can I find the data that shows that a 1:12 is any better than 1:16? I'm interested in learning more about it.

Head to snipers hide in the rimfire forum. Countless discussions on the merits of a faster twist for "ELR" work with the 22lr

Thanks for the tip. Do you have a link to a particular thread on Snipers Hide that shows actual proper data? It would help me avoid threads where people just talk in theoretical terms with no real testing or data.

I just googled fast twist 22LR. Also, call Ryan at IBI barrels in B.C. He has tested some and is selling them now. It seems that past 200 yds the faster twist tightens up the vertical dispersion in 22LR groups. Voodoo says 1/9, but doesn’t seem too enthusiastic about selling them. Ryan at IBI does 1/12. The groups I have seen pictures of sure are a lot tighter vertically than most. Considering it’s a $500 hit, not a real big expense to know for sure for yourself.
