Hk SL8

i'd be hesitant to make any calls based on what the websites say. a lot of these guys don't clear out their 'not in stock' items, so the pricing you see could be 5 years old (also a reason why you see such a spread in pricing - some is from 5 years ago, some is from 3 ...). not sure when the last sl8's actually were in stock. so, an indicator of what they sold for way back when ("look, a model t ford for only $29! what a great deal. aw shucks, not in stock ...") but not a real indicator of value at this point. typically you would be able to look at forums like this to get a feel for what things are selling (not asking) for, however the EE actively discourages that (hence some of the mercenary pricing efforts you see). i bought mine here for $1800 a year ago, sold the two mags it came with for $100. probably now it would sell quickly at $2500 or you could be waiting at $3000. lots of options out there now in the +3k range (famae, b&t, acr, etc.) that are more magazine-friendly so i would hazard to guess that they are not actually selling at that price.

to put it simply, around 2200-2500 would be a fair valuation for the rifle with 2 mags, you can of course ask for more, and honestly in current climate you probably still will be able to move it. While it might be a headache i recommend splitting the optic and rifle. The mags sell used for about 80-85 a pop if they are the Hk mags. Listing some of the spare mags separately would probably be a wise call as well. And if prospective buyer scoops it all up, power to them.

The aforementioned sl8 on the ee while i would say is overpriced also has a rare and expensive(and imo not worth it) g36 carry handle dual sight.
 
I absolutely love my sl8.....just Awsome ...and like a laser beam with 62....to 77g bullets...I’d love to buy another ...but you know money...and life

More than the cost of 2 MCRs I suspect.

I don't get why G36's are so expensive here in Canada, they're a mass production firearm that is still being made and which the R&D costs were recuperated a long time ago.

As much as It'd be easy to go "herp derp importer's greedy" I don't think that's the reason. We know that they can be exported here, so I wonder why the numbers are so small, expensive and infrequent.
 
Lovely. This is really the only gun I am still waiting to get. North Sylva had told me nothing expected for rest of the year, but they have been saying that for 1-2 years now. Hopefully my restock notifications for my LGS will give me some good news soon.

I guess there's no third party magazine that is a bit more affordable...
 
TFB is saying that according to HK USA's site, the MSRP is going to be $1700 USD (1750 if you for some reason buy a california version). so maybe new SL*s wont be as crazy expensive as they once were, especially since there's an obvious demand for them

Is the slight modification easy to do for someone with little to no handy skills?

I also heard there is a conversion kit to make the SL8 work with AR mags, but the kit is north of $400.

It involves relieving a little bit of plastic from receiver with die grinder or dremel.
