Hello all....I'm a newb to realoading and I'm just getting set up in reloading for my T3 30-06. Stuff is on its way from eguns (Dillon 650 with a bunch of accessories). Chad at eguns was great to deal with. I tried ordering from Dillon direct but they refused to send anything other than by UPS or FEDEX. ($250 + $70 brokerage on a $1500 order ) Chad not only agreed to send it USPS (insured airmail), but also knocked off $75 shipping to make up for the fact that he has free shipping to US customers. ($100 shipping) Prices are identical to buying direct from Dillon. All in all very good to deal with.

Now a question....sorry if it seems a bit silly to the veteran reloaders out there.

With the Dillon 650 and its powder throw die, would I have a need for a just a scale to calibrate the die, or would a combination scale/dispenser like the RCBS still be helpful? A dispenser seems redundant to people with a progressive setup that has a powder dispenser. How do people work a dispenser into such a setup?
Thanks all
Randy

You bought the press just in time....Dillon prices are going up in Jan 2008
Chad at eguns is a great guy to deal with....Thats where I bought my XL650 from.He likes to deal with Canadians.

You need to use a scale (not a dispenser) everytime you adjust the powder measure.

Ya I realize that. I just keep reading about how people love their combination units. Is it only people with single stage setups that need these units or are people with progressive setups still finding great use for them?
