Ive been looking for my first pistol, and want a 1911, but looking at all the Norinco sub models, along with the fact that retailers use stock images makes it confusing to see what im getting. Does anyone have a list or way to break down the models?

NP1911A1=?
NP19= 5" 45
NP28= double stack 9mm
NP29= 5" 9MM
np44= double stack 45

C after model means commander 4.25"
X means?
CHRO= chrome
TT= two tone

Which models come with the adjustable rear sights? and 8 round mags?

thanks

I bought a used np 29 chrome a few months ago. The Chrome is incredibly thin. I also had to shorten the barrel ramp, it overhung the feed ramp by at least .005. This is the first Norinco 1911 I have had (10)that would not function out of the box. It works great now.

My 45 is satin chrome, and it is not thin chrome. It also has the adjustable target sight, no CHRO designation. Great shooting pistol, very accurate! I picked up a set of NOS fully checkered rosewood grips; it is sure pretty!!

My fav Norcs have been the earlier ones, without ambi do-dads; extended what-nots, etc.

There are also two different NP-44 pistols. The old ones took Bersa magazines (not sure which..?) and the new ones take Para-Ordnance/R1 Double stack mags.
