Truth be told, there are not as many out there as people believe and they are localized. We had a few in the county, but they're done for.

Texas - so, estimated to have 2.5 million wild pigs (Wikipedia) - known to be present in 253 of their 254 counties. I just read Internet article (Sports Illustrated - a definitive authority if there ever was one!!!!) where is estimated have to take 2/3 of that every year to keep population level - does not reduce it. Texas wild pig numbers have been growing each year since ?? for sure I can find since 2011. Several billions US $$ in agriculture damage every year. Kind of expensive "fun" for someone - shooters most definitely are not paying the true cost of those pigs. Helicopter shooting varies $1,000 to $12,000 per day in Texas.
