Anyone received the Walther PDP yet? Thoughts?

The slide is designed specifically to be wide, deep serrations with lots of surface to grab with wet / cold / bloody hands if necessary. It is a vast improvement over the PPQ slide.
Some people want slides that look good, some want them to be smooth and sleek for concealed carry, PDP is all business for firm & secure manipulation of the gun under stressful / adverse conditions.
Handles recoil very well, the frame is cut for a bit higher grip / hold than the PPQ.

Once again the paper doesn't lie, these guns are super accurate......and.....more importantly easy to shoot accurately. You can ramsom rest guns in a vice and see what true accuracy is, but "shootability" for accuracy is something else and these PDP's produce accurate results!

The slide serrations on the PPQ were pretty good... till some German genius decided to make the extractor super long and wide and run it right back to where your thumb would be looking for traction....? I see they also addressed the extractor issue with the new model. I do prefer the paddle releases of the original PPQ but I understand why they don't do well in the North American market.

What happened to it that it needed service so soon?
I broke the extractor spring. Not sure if I had it backwards. Went to rack the slide and it broke. Got stuck and couldn’t even remove the slide. Till youtube showed me how to

Extractor or recoil spring?
I'm having a hard time understanding why you would have removed the extractor on a new gun?

But, I'm also having a hard time imagining putting in a recoil spring backwards.... :)

Does it not have a captive recoil spring assembly?

My bad. It was the recoil spring. I assume the only reason it would break is that I put it backwards

Did the plastic guide rod break? It looks like they use the same guide rods as the PPQ and there are a few aftermarket options available.

Yes, the plastic guide rod shattered on both ends. I was going to just order a new one but figured might as well try the warranty way. I also complained about the amount of play the slide has with the frame, doubt they can do anything about that.

Anyone have a source for a C&H Precision PDP to ACRO mounting plate?

The Walther free optics plate order form doesn't list an ACRO compatible plate as an option. Seems C&H are the only company making one at the moment.

I checked with C&H but they won't ship to Canada.

Gravel imports C&H Precision and have them listed on their defense/LE sight. None in stock for the Holosun 507 when I bought my PDP so I got the Walther one.

So decided to contact Gravel to see how long they’ll be working on my pistol. They said they ordered parts from the USA on June 30th and it will take at least a month to receive. So I might get my pistol hopefully at the end of august. Why have warranty if you do not stock the parts needed to do repairs. Wonder what else is wrong with it since I assumed it’s only the recoil spring that needs to be replaced.

The original PDP that entered Canada back in October has over 15K through it without cleaning, but has had lube added from time to time.
No malfunctions or parts breakage yet.
Walther Germany has done some 20K endurance testing without failure.

It is the new standard for Combat handguns.
