Swiss 1889 is correct. It would originally (and possibly still is) chambered in 7.5x53.5 aka Gewehr Patrone 90 which can be shot with currently available tools and components. The ( 5 ) on the top heel of the comb indicates the rifle was re arsenaled at Canton Argau at some point. Many of these rifles were imported into Canada dating back into the 1950's and were converted to 30WCF to improve sales. The conversion involved reaming the chamber and brazing in an insert, cutting the bolt face to accommodate the rim, adjusting the extractor and also reworking the magazine feed lips. Given those alterations you should be able to visibly confirm if your rifle was converted without doing a chamber cast though it wouldn't hurt if you intend to shoot it.
Thanks for the info! I had no idea it was that old1892 production Swiss M1889 rifle.
