Well after a month long wait I finally got my Glock 19 from Dlask. When I initially opened that box I was a little disappointed. The pistol and mag were there as promised but I guess my view on "good" condition was more optimistic then what I got. As well, the barrel was substantially longer than I expected (115mm). I also don't think they are very familiar with pinning Hi-Cap mags as my mag can only hold 8 rds. Some lessons I learned from the purchase - try to get pictures prior to purchase and definitely don't make assumptions. That being said -- I can't really complain. I got a threaded Lonewolf barrel and a Glock 19 with night sights. I have wanted one for a long time and it is nice to be finally able to own one. With the longer barrel I expect to get some decent groups but the trigger is horrid (NY1 spring). So I called up Jo at Police Ordnance and ordered up some parts. I am going to get a new trigger spring and extractor (I like the newer loaded chamber extractors) and whenever I can track one down I will get a 3.5lb connector. Here are some pics:
Pic 1: This is it with no thread covers on the bbl. It does look a bit odd with the barrel protruding but I am slowly getting used to it as it seems more intentional to have a longer threaded barrel as opposed to an unthreaded longer barrel.
Here is a pic of the G19 with threaded barrel cover on:
Finally here is the G19 from the cooler side:
I am sure someone will ask so I will say now. Yes, the slide is polished silver. It didn't come like this from Dlask. I got it last Monday and spent the last few days polishing the slide with a buffer. Before anyone freaks out on me for doing that - the only reason I did was the slide was originally heavily worn (finish wise) the rear of the slide was showing the gunmetal silvery color and oiling the slide did nothing to cover it up. So I decided that I would finish the job all over. I am considering sending it in for either refinishing or Chrome/Nickel Plating but it will depend on how the slide takes being stripped of the original phosphate finish. I expect the Tenifer finish to keep the slide from rusting but if anything starts to look funny I will just have to send it in for some work.
I have over 2400 rounds of 9mm to go out and practice - hopefully she will shoot better then she looks.
