My SP01 ( pre shadow ) I removed the blocky night sights, and basically installed what the shadow comes with, for since it better for target shooting. But I purchased a shadow, because I couldn't do what I wanted with a SP01 ( with a firing pin block ) I wanted to get the slide milled.

You are really over thinking it. Just get a shadow, and don't worry about the base model SP01, or the SP01 tactical.

You can adjust them for windage, but elevation you need to get taller front sights.

Yup... My first pistol was a "Made in Czechoslovakia" CZ75 (pre-B) almost identical to that prototype. Still have it 30 years later and it is STILL one of my best shooters...
 
Leavenworth, you can also swap in the Shadow 2 elevation adjustable rear sight into an original Shadow. That will require a taller FSP (7.0mm and 7.5mm will work fine - other heights might too). I’ve done this to three Shadows, and it works great if you swap between 124gn and 147gn ammo.
 
I'm a huge Sig fanboy. Definitely get into Sigs at some point, BUT.... Unless the P226 fits your hand better, I'd say go for the CZ. They are a solid gun, and you won't regret it.

You still will need a Sig someday though...
 
Sold the Sig and kept the Shadow 1

Mostly for ergonomic reasons.

Never had a hiccup with either, as long as the ammo was hot enough.

The Shadow just fits better and points naturally in my mid size hands. The Sig didn't come back to point of aim, without some effort required on the part of the shooter.

I thought this could be learned by use. Didn't work.
 
Okay now we have Trudeau back in power , don’t get me started on that subject as it’s more than his stance on firearms issues that I don’t like !

I’m wondering if paying $1000.00 plus for a pistol is smart if they intend to ban them ?

I'm going to buy till I cannot. As the young people say... YOLO.

FYI you can buy a used CZ for like 600$
 
I just bought a Shadow 2 OR. F*** Trudeau. I'm going to have as much fun as I can, until they come and take my fun away in their pursuit of votes and power. Then I'll go find more fun, and keeping having fun with that until I'm unable to.
