Anyone complain about the delay of gunsmiting of that shop
Rifle are there since january and nothing done yet. I m calling there couple of time and always says they dont know when they will receive my barrel. One time Wes said it cause by pandemic and anither time he said my barrel are in next shipment (may 2021) i call him last month he have nothing else to say. Since then he doesn t answer my email and call

What can i do?
 
You aren't providing enough information.

Are you asking for a difficult to get barrel to be installed??? Is a special reamer needed??

I've had to wait for close to a year to get special barrels. They can also be held up at the border, for whatever reason.

To few good smiths and to much work, could also be an issue.

If you aren't satisfied, go and get your rifle back, then take it to another smith, or opt for a different barrel manufacturer.
 
I need to change barrel
Epps suppose to order brand new factory weatherby vanguard barrel. I m still waiting to know when my barrel come in .

IF it is a factory Vanguard barrel you could be waiting for some time. we have been waiting for an extractor for a Vanguard for nearly a year now.
I am not sticking up for anyone, but getting parts from Wby is at best a painful experience.

Why not cancel the factory bbl and buy a custom bbl made here in Canada? I've had good luck with JC bbls.

You'll get a better bbl, faster.

I would add that I have used several IBI barrels and they have been top quality as well. All completed by epps in the three weeks.

Unless this is a warranty job in which case you’ll likely be waiting awhile.
 
why spend the money on a factory barrel replacement. get a custom barrel and go. Canada is the small market for guns, parts and components in the US. factory shut downs, shortage of materials due to COVID, change in US government is a change in policy usually which affects what can come across the border and when. maybe if you are nagging the dealer his time is better spent doing something else. if he has ordered and is waiting for the parts, it is out of his hands...
 
well ,,, I am at 8 months wait on a JC barrel when it was ordered in January was suggested 6 weeks ... so I don't think one is better then others

I'm surprised .... I've bought 3 bbls from JC and all came in time as promised. I'm wondering if this covid has him botched up as well.
 
well ya, first was a 6.5 prc barrel on a Tikka action this one is a 280AI barrel on a Tikka action also #2 contour pretty simple , nothing that would slow him down
 
ya not sure ,, big orders maybe . I would like to say tho if you have the time .. he makes a dam good barrel, but I imagine with importing stuff so long he must have got pretty busy this last year and a half .i emailed again hoping for a response

I know how you feel. It's been 1 year, 6 months, 3 days since a certain gunsmith/maker had everything at his disposal to re-barrel my rifle. I still do not have it, nor do I know when I will receive it. This is the first and last time I will ever hire this person!!!:slap::HR:
