For practical use I would say 2moa would be max for taking a rifle to 300yards on big game.
I have yet to own a rifle that I couldn’t get down to 1.5” groups at 100y with hand loads.
My list of “never sell” rifles are all 1” or better. Just me being fussy I guess.
In real world shooting a more accurate gun gives more room for shooter error that is inevitably going to be a factor for field shooting
So I know my 1 MOA rifle is going to be a 2 MOA gun in my hands in the field.
Wich makes it a reasonable 300yrd rifle IMO
But a 2-3MOA rifle in my hands shooting 12-18” 300yrd groups in hunting situations dose not give me the confidence to take those shots IMO.
Less I got to worry about the guns performance the better. If I miss it’s always on me.
