I'm looking for Federal Fusion component bullets, specifically in the 7mm 140 grain variety. Has anyone seen these anywhere?

I bought my first box from X-reload, but they're out of stock and have been for a while. Sadly they're the only place I've actually seen these particular bullets and searching online has only gotten me results for complete ammo not just the bullets.

Thanks in advance!

bullets, or factory ammo?

My Cabelas (Abbotsford) doesn't carry fusion bullets, or at least I've never seen them and I was in there yesterday. Actually, their bullet section was pretty bare, very little in the way of 7mm other than Hornady and most of that was in weights higher than what I want.

Bass Pro in Tsawwassen had a better reloading section last time I was in there, I haven't seen fusion bullets there either but I rarely go there because it's a pain to get to from where I am.

I haven't seen much in the way of components from Federal aside from primers - been looking for both the Fusion 180's and Terminal Ascent 175's for a while and they are difficult to find. I suspect Federal is prioritizing loaded ammo at this point.

I haven't seen them around many places (in fact, X-Reload is the only place I've ever seen 'em) so I'm thinking they might not be commonly available as of yet? According to this article, they're pretty new to the market as a component bullet: https://www.shootingtimes.com/editorial/reloading-federal-fusion-component-bullets/370008

They were Speer Deep Curl and Federal was using them as components for loaded ammunition called Federal Fusion. They're made through electroplating.

According to the article I linked in post #7 they are Gold Dots, but without the boron nitride coating.

So nobody has seen them around eh? That sucks, I really didn't want to change bullets again...

Yea when Sierrra quit making their PSP 180gr .308 Prohunters it was a pain. Luckily I found several boxes on the shelf at P&D that should meet my lifetime needs as long as I am cautious and use something else cheap for punching most of my paper.

Sadly that sort of idea won't work for me - one of the big reasons I tried the fusions was I wanted something more than a standard cup-and-core bullet, without breaking the bank so I could just have one bullet for both paper punching and shooting game. My first box was only like $55/100 bullets, which is only slightly more expensive than the $45/100 I can get Hornady Interlocks for locally. I'm also set on the 140gr bullet weight, I'm a fan of velocity and I just can't get enough powder in the case to push longer bullets fast enough for my liking.

I guess I shouldn't say that idea won't work for me, as I might end up going down that road, but I was hoping to avoid having multiple loads for this rifle. I've found a good price for some 140gr partitions and 120gr Pro Hunters online, so I might buy a few boxes of each of those and go back to page 1... But its frustrating to do that, I spent enough money working up my Fusion load I don't really want to spend that money again (twice no less!) to develop more loads... (Especially considering I already developed a load for 139GMX that I decided to move away from due to a combination of bullet cost and not getting quite enough velocity for my liking)

I might make a trip out to Bass Pro on the weekend, see what they have on the shelves. Their bullet selection is much better than the Cabelas around here (at least it was last time I was there, who knows how bare the shelves will be right now), so maybe they'll have something that tickles my fancy without breaking the bank. Looking at other retailers online I have noticed there is a lack of bullet availability in general right now.

Dude, Woodleighs........
Bonded. awesome.

They're hard to find in Canada these days man! The one place I knew that regularly imported them is scaling back their business as the owner goes into retirement, and they have basically none available. I just tried google and couldn't find anything in 7mm.

I'm an impatient bastard, so I bought 3 boxes of Partitions. That should keep me going for a few years as long as load development doesn't eat too many of them. I'll pick up some Hornady Interlocks locally later this week for my cheap range fodder. Didn't want to run two different bullets, but whatever, the best load I ever made with my 270win was with partitions so hopefully these ones will prove to be similarly accurate!

BUGGER!
thats a bit of a shame but totally understandable with todays market an heavily influenced american imported stuff! Aussie is gettin difficult/expensive for say Partitions and Monos, slowly swinging people onto the Woodleighs to support the AU business and its silly we dont all shoot them for Game hunting :)

at least you got some boxes of pills to get ya going!!

Cheers mate

Thanks! I've actually been wanting to try Woodleighs for a while, just haven't had the opportunity. I want to stick to 140gr bullets for my 7mm08 and the one place that reliably stocked Woodleighs in the past hasn't had any of that flavour in stock the handful of times I've checked for em... And now it looks like they might not be bringing them in anymore judging by their current stock, or lack thereof.

At a buck a bullet the partitions aren't cheap, but considering I paid $50/50, and I saw them as high as $73/50 at one retailer, I don't feel so bad about $1/per. Woodleighs would still probably have been cheaper though! Lol
