Cheap AR-15s

I would have no problem buying a Russian AK-47 (if it was legal) but I wouldn't want a chinese copy of a 1911 or woodsman. Are there any chinese guns that aren't copies of an American or any other country's design? The only imported copies I would buy are Cimarrons. And I don't care as much about computers, that I throw away every few years, as guns. And a lot of the chinese things I have bought were junk.

You have checked out my Marstar Type 97 thread????????

Those 1911s are well made and popular with Americans. To me it boils down to gunsnobbery. People feel smug about expensive guns and have some need to flaunt and justify them. We promote the shooting sports with affordable entry level guns. Not by having our buddies save up for years and then decide they need a quad more.

Some people can afford nicer guns, some cant. Me, i'd rather spend more and have nicer guns but if it's all someone can afford, well i'd rather see him shooting with a cheap not so well made gun, than not shooting at all.

Cheap is a relative term.

Buying military hardware from RED China is a losing proposition as they are using the profits from the sales to drive their military into a first world fighting force - not good for anyone in the long run.

Secondly given they are willing to use lead and aesbestos in childrens toys - do you think they are MP'ing all these parts?

It will be a cold day in Hell before a Chinese weapon graces my gun safe.

That's totally understandable. I don't buy Japanese cars, same mentality. And I don't collect Japanese guns either.

There will always be US made guns because USA always uses guns that are made in USA for their Army. And Commy guns are illegal in the US. And there are still many people that prefer to buy US guns. And in the states you can buy a US made AR15 for $500, so that's not much more than one of those chinese copies.

No reason to think that a bunch of M4 Rinco's in the country are going to lower the price of other M4's. Even if they were $300 bucks and brought ten thousand in.

This country is flooded with 1911 Rinco's and they didnt kill the 1911 market. If anything the used Rinco market is inflated.

So i wandered over to leverarms website, checked out the norinco spot lookin for this cheap ar clone ... not listed.

Can someone link me? Is it no longer available through leverarms?

Interesting thread.

I am not really an AR guy, and have been deterred from buying one by the price.

However

A $500 AR in 9mm would definately be a must have. Made in China or not.

Flip your keyboard over, look behind your monitor, see what's on the back of your computer.

Try as you may to fight the good fight, you'll lose. And you can thank North American corporations for that, out to spend as little as possible to make as much as possible.

Chinese gun, Chinese computer, Chinese toy. It's well past the PONR.

 Gimme a break!! With some things you may not have a choice but in the case of firearms there still is a choice. I, personally, won't own a Chicom firearm but if it's your choice to own them don't hide behind the fact that 'everything is made in China these days....' :runaway:

well i bought my self a norinco ar and i love it at half the price of a usa brand!
i don't now about you guy's but i use gun lub on my gun not when i buy some thing no matter were it comes from! USA mean better only if you have a flag on your wall. it still has to be worth the price!

Oh my Canyon is absolutely made in USA. And that's my personal choice to exclude any Japanese brand named vehicles in my garage.....just personal feeling. If one day Norinco decided to open up a factory in Canada to make popular M-14s, I bet some here still wouldn't buy it no matter how many Canadians were employed by Norinco.

I wouldn't expect any of the parts to be MP, simply because I only paid $600 for the darn thing. You want quality, you've got to pay for it. Don't expect the very best for the least amount of money.
